They had Sussex on their knees at 125-5, but they should get close to 300.

A perfect example of how the teams fortunes should be put before individual mile stones !! Colin Ingram was 95 not out with Glamorgan still needing around 20 runs to win; yet Carlson smashed the runs needed to make sure of victory. No doubt he conferred with his captain on these tactics; I feel that Captain Ingram deserves the highest commendation for this sporting attitude !!!!

Whilst in the forum, I am wondering what the feeling is about the huge payment Glamorgan were paid not to apply to stage Test matches over the next few seasons ? The money has certainly had a huge impact on Glamorgan finances; but I can also understand the feeling of other counties particularly those not on the test match circuit. But on the other hand Glamorgan have spent a lot of money on ground development to bring it up to Test standards. I also believe Cardiff City Council have wiped off a debt owed by the county; when Glamorgan tout for test matches do the City Council put up some of the money ?

My honest opinion is that Cardiff City Council should be congratulated for supporting Glamorgan Cricket; no doubt they have a great respect for Hugh Morris who will no doubt one day be knighted for his services to cricket.

Specsavers County Championship Division Two, Edgbaston (day three):

Glamorgan 220: Poysden 5-29 & 323: Khawaja 125, Cooke 59;

Warwickshire 250: Bell 106*, Trott 57;

Warwickshire (5 pts) need 269 more runs to beat Glamorgan (4 pts)

Australia Test batsman Usman Khawaja's classy century on his Glamorgan debut anchored his side's innings of 323 all out against Warwickshire at Edgbaston.

After being set a target of 294, the Bears then reached 25-0 at the close.

Khawaja took the attack to the home bowlers on a slow pitch, his scintillating 125 coming off 143 balls with 16 fours and a six.

Good stuff.

:clap: :clap: :clap:

Glamorgan captain Chris Cooke (59) provided valuable support to Khawaja in a stand of 115 after four wickets fell in the first session.

125-1 at lunch, looking ominous

A lot of the Welsh public's money was put into rebuilding the ground so that Cardiff and Wales would benefit financially and promotionally from England's test matches that were to be played there. Always seemed a bit of dull idea to me.
What's happened effectively with Glamorgan Cricket giving up on hosting test matches is that money has been transferred from the public's pocket into GCC's pocket.

I suppose the only silver lining is that we now have a fit for purpose cricket test venue for our national team ready for when the floor licking supplicants running cricket in Cymru are eventually shunted out.

Bell scored another ton and Glamorgan lost to his two not-outs.

He is quite a player.

Bugger.

His first innings ton was his first in 2 years. Trust an English guy to get his second in only a couple of days. The counties treat playing Glamorgan as an International Test Match.

Duck for Marsh today....will Ingram play County Cricket?

Nope Ingram is signed for the one day tournament which went very badly and T20. Besides he has been bang average in the four day stuff for Glammy in previous seasons. Khawaja has replaced Marsh in the County Championship.
