Post Re: Pro 14 Matches - 15th & 16th September 2017
The Sunday Times said Leinster had arranged business class seats for the trip to SA but some bright spark in the Pro 14 organisation told them to hold off on booking the tickets so the Pro14 could arrange an airline sponsorship deal . The deal never happened so now the Leinster squad is split between flights from Paris and London.

Leinster Rugby
Quote:
Leinster play the Southern Kings on Saturday in Port Elizabeth (Kick Off: 2.15pm – live on TG4) and the Toyota Cheetahs on Friday week in Bloemfontein (Kick Off: 8.00pm – live on SKY Sports) in Rounds 3 and 4 of the Guinness PRO14.

In total Cullen has named 28 players and they leave Dublin this evening arriving in to Johannesburg tomorrow morning.

Those ruled out through injury include Dan Leavy (ankle), Rob Kearney (hamstring), Peadar Timmins (quad), Jamie Heaslip (lower back), Richardt Strauss (knee), Tom Daly (knee) and Garry Ringrose (shoulder) while Cullen also confirmed that lock Ian Nagle has had a procedure on a pectoral muscle injury picked up in training and will be out of action for up to 12 weeks.

Finally Cullen also confirmed that Devin Toner and Scott Fardy were not considered for selection as their wives are expecting their first child in the next few weeks.

Two very interesting games on Friday for completely different reasons.
Dragons v Connacht 7:30 PM Rodney Parade, Newport
Can Dragons start some sort of renaissance?

Ulster v Scarlets 7:35 PM Kingspan Stadium, Belfast
Can Scarlets continue their winning streak?

Also to watch will be Southern Kings vs. Zebre. It's hard to see where they're going to get a win from this season if not against Zebre at home. I suspect the Pro14 hierarchy will have their fingers crossed for a first RSA win.

Maybe.

I suspect it may be the other way around though, that the powers that be want the Italians to top the bunch from down south.

Visa issues for Gibson Park and Nacewa. Both NZ passport holders.

Huge Leinster squad for the South Africa trip. Jobs for the boys syndrum. I would have thought 25 players would have been sufficient, with a top up call based on any injuries the first week end.
