Re: Lack of focus, unforced errors, composure and so on
I am not beating him up, I am just asking a question of is he not the complete player some think?

Re: Lack of focus, unforced errors, composure and so on
I think nail on head with the last bit of the sentence. I can't say I have a strong opinion of him either way as I've only seen him play a handful of games. My point was a general one not necessarily related to comments on here. We seem to have a habit of bigging our 10 up, assuming he is the best and then when he shows a couple of bad moments, throw him on the pile and chose a new 10 to do the same with over again. I would say that this is one of the main reasons Priestland went poor. Suddenly everyone was out to get him, booing him and then calling him shit. "Ah but he is an international player and shouldn't be playing if he can't take the criticism" people say. Well I counter that by saying - what people mean is "he is a Welsh fly half and our weird obsession with the myth of the perfect player means they will never be good enough as we don't let them develop". Even Dan Carter would have bee shit had he played for Wales.

Playing behind a beaten pack is a nightmare at 9 or 10

Sam D's stock went up after some decent run outs in the RCC lite tournament
Go figure.
The opposition are never taken into account, ever.

Sam is a fine young player, Chris. Getting slow and inaccurate ball from a harassed scrumhalf is not what any 10 wants. And gorillas in your face is horrendous

But that is what you get in top flight rugby. The higher you go, the less time everyone has.

Yes, you're right, no doubt. I was brought up on the old rules - hardly any distance between the 10 and the opposition. Times were hard in the '60s ..

It's not fair that opposition teams are playing well against Sam Davies. Do they not know he's the saviour of Welsh rugby.

much of the time he is playing with Webb's very slow service, so that's some sort of excuse.

There are dozens of 9s better than Rhys and the fragile feller isn't good enough to play for the Ospreys. Come back to Bridgend, Rhys. New Zealanders are terribly rough.

That's one of the tragedies of Welsh Rugby, there seem to be none around who are better

Jonathan Evans and Aled Davies look increasingly promising.

Re: Lack of focus, unforced errors, composure and so on
He can be, but he has been below par since coming back to the Ospreys from the 6N, and was especially atrocious against the Blues.

Re: Lack of focus, unforced errors, composure and so on
I think that can be said of a lot of ospreys players, particularly the forwards who have collapsed with AWJ injury Welsh rugby picking on individuals again... never mind the crap performances across the board
