Arrive at the Coastal Path at 7:30 am to hear the birdsong, slip back into the car at 9 am, by which time the "Rush 15 minutes" is over, and take the M4 back to Cardiff, arriving at 10:30 am. Park up in one of the roads off Cathedral Road - or the vast expanse of Sophia Gardens if you think that's a good idea. Chose a pub or hotel where they serve edible food and stay all day until an hour before kick off. Stroll over to the venue and Bob est ton Oncle. | | | | |
That's 11/2 hrs in Llanelli Bouch not a day!

I told you fellers years ago on here that Neath-Swansea O's even with changing the name was not a region but a super club, they should never have taken the game outside the 'region', disgraceful.

So where in 'the region' could they have conceivably played it?

Re: Ospreys v Stade Francais qf now at Principality Stadium
Probably the wrong decision to choose the PS over PYS.
If I was an Os fan I would have relished the opportunity to come into my neighbours ground and create probably the largest crowd ever at the ground, and then send the opposition home with their tails between their legs, which I'm sure the Os would have done in a packed electrically charged atmosphere that they could have created in a full stadium. It must be strange for players playing in an empty large stadium - no hwyl.
Also think of the local economy - how many Cardiff hotel rooms were filled with fans at the expense of Swansea hotels, plus knock on taxi pub restaurants etc. You could put a figure to the income lost to the local economy based on travelling fans staying in the area.
I would like to think that if this happened to the Scarlets that they would have played at the Liberty.

I have to agree with you Ice, this is where welsh regions should support each other for the good of welsh rugby and the local economy. Putting rivalry aside to support each other can only be good for welsh rugby.

Would Os fans not relish a chance to take over PyS for a day? Rub Llanelli's face in it? I really don't understand the logic.

Re: Ospreys v Stade Francais qf now at Principality Stadium
Once upon a time and despite fierce local rivalry etc big welsh Club matches were well supported. My family were all avid Aberavon supporters but any big match like Cardiff, Barbarians or Swansea against a touring team or key opponents they all went to support the Welsh team... if they could get a ticket that is ... full house. Ok the tourists or Barbarians were big draws but it was also supporting the flag. The other side of that equation was the 'glamour' clubs carried the prime internationals, no replacement benches and Caps like hens teeth to obtain; I remember Welsh team selection evenings, the Club packed ... radio on for the selection and the shit and everything hit the fan when Cliff Ashton got awarded his first cap!! Welsh Rugby was top of the tree autographs treasured, scarves, flat caps and rosettes dress of the day. Ah Happy Days. No apologies for memory lane .....
