Contenders for the vote on the night of Sunday, 18 December.

The nominees, in no particular order, are:-

Gareth Bale - Football,
Mo Farah - Athletics,
Max Whitlock - Gymnastics,
Andy Murray - Tennis,
Alistair Brownlee - Triathlon.

Danny Willett - Golf.
Jamie Vardy - Football
Nick Skelton - Equestrian.
Adam Peaty - Swimming,
Jason Kenny - Cycling.

Sophie Christiansen - Equestrian,
Kadeena Cox - Athletics/Cycling,
Laura Kenny - Cycling.
Nicola Adams - Boxing.
Dame Sarah Storey - Cycling,
Kate Richardson-Walsh - Hockey.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nick Skelton is a stand out tippler and his story, in particular, is totally amazing.

What a boy he is!

Can only be Andy Murray surely?
Personally I'd like to see a joint husband and wife winning it but I'd be amazed if Murray didn't win

Footballers are rare winners of the trophy though

My money is on either Andy Murray or Mo Farah

Hey, Jade Jones won the Welsh SPOTY.

That's a kick in the chops for Gareth Bale.

She scares the hell out of me, very nice looking girl, seems to be full of personality and could deck you in 1/10 of a second

It's usually very Tennis bias isn't it. Sue Barker pulling the strings as usual.
Go Mo!

But I'd rather Tennis over football, Usually with football the conversation is pretty dull!

The TV coverage was boring beyond belief last year and this year the BBC have decided to make it even less watchable.

Quote:
Singer Robbie Williams is to perform at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year show on 18 December. He will provide the soundtrack to a special moment in the programme which celebrates the achievements of British Olympians and Paralympians at Rio 2016.

Laura Mvula, and Gareth Malone and the Invictus Choir, will also sing during the show his year's event is at the Genting Arena in Birmingham (from 18:40 GMT).
