Er, our potential is to finish between 5th and 7th.

Once we hit 3rd or 4th regularly we'll be playing very well.

We were seeded 6th for this tournament.

Some perspective is needed. Beating Australia and Japan is hardly a disaster. Losing to Argentina was disappointing and NZ, well, were NZ

Maybe disaster is too strong a word but overall I was very disappointed

I am particularly disappointed in the athletic ability of this current side... they didn’t look fit and that front row was a throw back to a by gone era.

Falling off tackles was a common theme - the Australia game apart - which can be a question of desire

So without fitness and intent... we were going to struggle at this tournament

If I am honest, have not watched any of the U20 stuff so cannot comment on how good or bad Wales were.

However, it seems self evident to me that U20 rugby is very much a snapshot of a particular cohort at a particular time and there is the potential that performance will vary greatly year on year. In 2016 we had a particularly good side and some of these are starting to filter through and are making their mark. Nonetheless, it is difficult to read too much into these junior tournaments. If over a five year period we produce 7-8 top class internationals for the senior side then that will make a difference.

I was disappointed with what I saw. Too few players comfortable with ball in hand and utterly dreadful and aimless kicking away of posssession time and time again.
