Five consecutive defeats. Performances, especially in defence, getting worse.

Is this a terminal decline under Jones?

Still too early to say. They are certainly vulnerable now though. It’s been a very poor 2018 for them.

It is just that this is starting to seem more than a dip. SA were not that good.

This is bad news for both NH and global rugby. The former in particular, and the latter in general, need at least one country able to take on the All Blacks consistently.

Certainly seems to be a growing trend. 4 defeat on the bounce and the same themes over and over - utterly woeful defence.
England should have won that game easily, especially after the first 15 mins unfolded.

If Jones isnt struggling he needs to rethink the defence coaching setup.

It’s been a sobering day for NH rugby.

Not really. France were always going to be dismal, especially with the weakened team.
Ireland were close, very close until the refereeing at the end. They're right up there.

England is a shock - its a game they should have won comfortably and they have serious problems there.

Wales will coast Argentina later.

I think our pack will struggle Andrew. Will miss the game as off out but will catch up later. I like the look of our backs. Important that Patchell plays well tonight.

Bad result for England particularly when taken into context with resent results.

As for Jones, i think a coach's influence is at its most visible early in games, players tend to stick to the script far more, the higher the level the longer they keep their structures and gameplan as a collective. I think Jones is a top coach and England have a good depth of players and if they stick with Jones he will come up with the goods. Defense is an obvious issue is that player weakness or system weakness :dontknow:
