The thing this development side needs to improve is the possession and territory stats

It was the same in the six nations that the forwards dont win a lot of ball... the difference was wales were clinical against Argentina and turned the breakdown into a mess

And try not to get called out by the ref. We were lucky several times last week, some refs would have had a field day, and the players need to be able to discriminate

The back row selection is mighty tough. I hope Gatland takes six. If he went with your five the likes of Tipuric, Shingler and James Davies would miss out along with Lydiate and Thomas Young.

Shingler is a must, he is invaluable in the lineouts. A season ago I felt he lacked aggression but I think he has added aggression to his portfolio. An invaluable player to have on the park.

No way does either Lydiate or Young get into contention, albeit for different reasons.

I think we need to separate 6's, 7's and 8's and how many we take of each.
If we took two of each that is already 6 out of a squad of 31, probably have to cut that down to 5 at the most.
That really boils down to 3 first choice 6, 7, & 8 plus two who offers more than just a specialist. This is where the difficulties lie.

The makeup of the squad depends on the make up of your players, you may have second rows who are just as happy in the back row or you may not, you don't have to do anything except assess the balance and options that your selection provides. If you had an Austin Ealy in your squad in may affect the number of specialized 9's or wings you take.
