Happy with the backline, but I think we will get soundly beaten up front, pack doesn't look strong. Seb Davies at 6, isn't he usually 2nd row?

what is wrong with gatland playing seb at 6 hes played there twice now and failed twice as a six . i can see wales us getting beat by 30 points against the argies. dillan lewis is not upto international standard yet and why does gatland keep on playing players out of position. what planet is gatland on leaving ellis jenkins out of the starting side hes far far better player than davies gatland you may as well go back to new zealand now at least we will have a chance of doing something with out you here

Is Ellis Jenkins carrying an injury?

No, Gatland just wants to test and rotate the squad.

Aled Davies on the bench? Maybe Ellis Jenkins is being rested. Gatland is obviously wanting to have a closer look at some players to see how they perform at higher levels. IMHO Ellis and Tomoa Williams should have been at least on the bench.

Backline looks capable but he seems to have hung the pack out to dry. Too many 3rd choices which doesn't allow them a good crack at stepping up. Mixing in the more experienced would at least make the 3rd choices feel they are part of a Welsh pack and give them a chance to see if they can fit in. Seb Davies deserves a chance at lock. Could have had Ellis Jenkins in back row with Cubby as we have limitations at 6 anyway. Tomos Williams certainly put his hand up for a bench spot.

I don’t think Davies does enough of the donkey work to be selected at lock

I’m still not convinced by Hill but we know he will put himself on the line... and beards game is apparently (though seen limited evidence thus far) about being physical

However this does lead us on to if davies isn’t physical enough to play at 4... why select him at all. Could have tried Jenkins at 6

Very inexperienced starting front 5, will be a huge test for them

Interesting response from Gats when asked why Seb is starting at 6 again:

What’s the thinking behind selecting Seb Davies at 6 again?

WG: The reason we’ve gone with Seb, he had three days last week where he didn’t train. He had a virus and we definitely feel that had an impact.

There were a couple of nice touches in attack. We want to see some improvements defensively but we just felt he deserved another chance at this level. He gets another opportunity at 6 and I think the experience of last week will be good for him.

I have to say that in terms of his build and natural running & passing ability (think he used to play centre in junior rugby?) he does look more of a 6 than a 2nd row to me.

Side looks a mixture of the callow, untested and dubious. A win would be a surprise but not sure how Arg will perform.

Want it to be proven otherwise but still convinced that James Davies is some way short of international standard.
