Congratulations to Ireland. A superb team. Comfortably the best team in the tournament and fully deserving of the Grand Slam.

 very well deserved Grand Slam. Ireland looked a class above what England had today and the final score flattered England slightly. Some very good young players coming through the Irish ranks and their coach has them playing to a very good system and game plan.

If Jones and his coaches have any dignity they will fall on their swords! The rate in which we have regressed is purely down to us, and their coaching! In one tournament they have successfully destroyed the previous 2-3 seasons work, and collapsed in ability and nous when the pressure came on. I am not sure who can replace them, but I know that they will not be able to undo what has been done. At the start of this tournament we were looking to be a true challenger for the World Cup, and at a tantilising and titanic battle with the ABs in the AI's. We are now officially only good enough to be also rans at the World cup, with a form and game plan that will see us exit at the group stage. And WE ARE looking at a tanking against the ABs! A new coaching set up will at least give us hope of being competitive.

Eddie Jones and Co, unable the select players correctly, unable to find a style of play. Only able to gain 5 match points in 4 tests and presiding over our worst finish in 35 years. Please go and do not let the door hit your rears on the way out!

Ireland will love this, and rightly so! they have earn't their slam, and when you look at the absolute paucity of success they have historically, It should live long in the memory for them, and they deserve all our congratulations!

A bit harsh Wombles. The tell tale sign was the very poor performances of the Aviva teams in Europe. Players were going into the Six Nations with a losing mindset. England have gone backwards but Jones previous record means he deserves to take England to the World Cup.

I am not willing to call for Jones to go but FFS he needs to stop being so *fupping* stubborn and ignoring problems that the rest of us can see. Our discipline and breakdown work are a joke and it turns out we have no breakdown specialist or attack coach!? WTF?

This is painful just like the last world cup was but bloody hell maybe this will be the kick up the arse he needs to listen to all those people who have been saying his core of favourites simply aren't good enough and he needs to start giving caps to younger players with a higher ceiling. The last year has been completely wasted in terms of our development. 2016 we didn't look flash but looked solid with a furious defence, 2017 we looked a bit flashier but shakier in defence. Now we look much worse in defence and our attack has completely evaporated.

Changes I want to see:

- New hookers. George and LCD didn't perform as well as hoped but I think they just need more experience at this level. Hartley has his darts but our double digit penalty counts every game show he is not leading properly. You can't just say "discipline" and think that is it. You need to get up to the players and tell them to stop being so *fupping* stupid, slap them on the head at times.

- Itoje needs to sit out. I don't propose dumping him entirely but his form and discipline have been poor and he needs a kick up the arse.

- A new back row. The current one is too old, too slow, lacking physicality, lacking nous... Billy V is vital to our plan but we don't change with him not there.

- Get 1 or 2 new scrum halves in. This tournament has highlighted the sheer stupidity of only having 2 and absolutely no contingency for injuries or drop in form. We had both this tournament.

- Get more specialist and support coaching staff in. England performed best when Jones had a team of specialists helping out with various aspects of the game, he has since ditched them all and we have nose dived.

- Least likely to happen but we need a proper agreement with Aviva clubs to rest English players. A chart was posted a whilst back and about 10 English players had played twice as many minutes as the most played Irish player in the Lions year. We cannot keep flogging our players like this.

I am amazed that a. An that is so fastidious in all he does can miss out on the glaring need for attack and breakdown specilist coaches!

He focused so much on the minutiae and seeing what he could gleem from other sports he lost the big picture. I find its amazing that we paid so little respect to the back play, and also paid no respect to the importance of possession. This was coming, and unfortunately when it arrived, the coaches made further errors in selection and continued to think having a team with a limited game plan and narrow defence was going to work!

Judge not someone by how they win but by hiw they lose. When we started losing Eddie and co had no answer, that is the crux. To call for them to go is not unduly unreasonable as this coaching team had 3 seasons to build to this point.

If we persist with them we will see a continued selection of limited players with limited abilities, and ignoring players who are quicker of thought, deed and imagination. The selection of Wigglesworth (a good player, but not good enough for test rugby) over the likes of Robson, the persistence of Ford over Cipriani who has been playing well all season, and the scramble to return injured players straight into the test XV showed Eddie to be a man not of his word, as he stated that he would select on form, but reflective of someone out of ideas, and with a game plan that will not cut it anymore.

Eddie on 5 Live after the game:
Quote:
There are several players who have played their last game for England

This was basically what the lads on Green and Gold predicted, when things don't work out for Eddie the players grow to hate and fear him when he turns into Evil Eddie.

And one we think he should have been saying before when things were still good. Having said that if he gets back to the ruthless attitude he had when he first arrived without losing the confidence of the players then it might be good. Firm but fair. Jones has a reputation though so see how he deals with it...

Also didn't give credit to Ireland so congratulations Ireland, deserved the grand slam and easily the best side in the NH at the moment and highly consistent over 4 years. I'd say prime contenders for the world cup, unless you do what we just did and forget everything in the space of a year.
