Back row: It is a tough call on which combination of Shingler/Navidi/Tipuric gets a start. The back row are going to have to tackle their backsides off, I would go with Navidi and Tipuric personally.

10: There is a case to be made for Biggar, Patchell and Anscombe. Assuming we will be living off scraps of possession again I think Patchell might be the best option.

Back 3: Same story, we are not going to see the ball much, so we will have to sound in defence and attack from deep. North/Halfpenny/Liam

It seems as though everyone has lost sight of the fact that against the I-ties that James Davies made by far the most tackles and was the only loose forward to have a successful jacking and was instrumental in a number of turnovers.
If you take a closer look at Owen Watkin's interception. Who was it that caused the I-ties to pass in panic, the first was Cubbies tackle followed by a Faletau tackle leading to the pass that was intercepted by Owen.
My loose forward trio for France would be Shingler, James Davies and Faletau with Tips on the bench.

It's all about who starts and who's on the bench between Davies and Tipuric

Given Wales likely ascendency in last 20 I'd keep Tipuric on the bench and Davies to compete with what seems a french speciality at breakdown?

Everyone seems to be forgetting Moriarty - is he injured ?
Got to be an option at 6.

As far as I know, he is not injured and has also got to be an option.
However, if we are to play a fast open game then Shingler and Cubby have got to be there for starters.
Shingler and Cubby are just as quick, if not quicker, than most three quarters.
Shingler is also a bloody nuisance on the opposition throw in the lineouts and is himself a great lineout specialist.

Agreed - I'm a long time fan of Shingler.
Just thought I'd mention Moriarty as he does give us some go forward (as doesI Navidi).
Cubby hasn't shown enough internationally yet to get the nod for this game before Tipuric/Navidi/Moriarty, in my opinion.
No doubt he will get other opportunities.

I would like to see Shingler/Cubby together at some point as it definitely works for the Scarlets.

I predict Falatau/Shingler and a n other .... ;) ;)

Must admit, I see Shingler on his current form as a shoe-in, add Faletau to that and I'd have either/or Cubbi/Navidi with the non starter on the bench? In truth, I think with maybe 2 question marks, the matchday squad pretty much picks itself?
The best part about Shingler is, he also gives us a 3rd option as a jumper as well as having proven himself as a 6? No doubts that he's taken his opportunity well this season?
Some thoughts on OH, I think, given the importance of the game, that maybe Biggar deserves the start, with Patch and/or Anscombe on the bench? Mainly, I'd go with Biggar for his experience and his physicality? Not a time to 'see how one of the others go' against France anyway?

We did that against Ireland, it didn't work, Biggar is yesterdays man, I'd only pick him if he was the last man standing.
