I know there is a shingler and navidi love in at the moment but that backrow do not do enough to slow down the opposition ball.

Missing Falitau is the key.

He's special

Much better footballer than Moriarty (or Shingler)

Sure is .

Yesterday was overall encouraging I think

I don't think Ingerlund are as good as they think they are
and if they don't make changes very soon it will be too late
,if it is not already, for them to have a genuine chance in Japan.

I think we are moving in the right direction for Japan.

We aren't as good as we think we are yet the current side under Jones hold every single NH record, equalled a world record winning streak and are currently beating NZ for games won. How on Earth do you reconcile reality with your view? God help me if you say luck.

Yes there was clear water between wales and England... england are a top side

I don’t buy this moving in the right direction stuff. We were behind all game

A pair of centres would help, a hooker and a lock

Likewise to my favourite old Socialist.

Didn't think we have much to fear from the French - if we play as we can should beat them handily.

The backrow should have been the area we targeted England, but as it turns out it was the area they dominated. Quick ball enabled them to vary keeping it in the fringes or shipping it out wide, which totally nullified our line speed in defense.
Shingler showed up, but the other two were shown up in this sort of match.

Troron of course it's not luck that you are the no2 side in world rugby.

But you scraped a 6 point win yesterday at home against an
injury ravaged team - yes you were the better side but 12 points
up after 20 minutes and unable to score for the last hour of the
game is not the play of worldbeaters. What would the AB's have
done to us at Eden Park with that sort of lead - won 12 -6?

So let's examine this fantastic recent run of yours. Very soft 2017 AI's
with the only maybe competitive game against a poor Oz mob
who were thrashed by Scotland.

Summer tour - :sleepy2:

Last 6N - Wales(Howley'd !!) Scotland ,France, Italy all poor
or rebuilding so there is only one meaningful game against Ireland
in Dublin - so remind me how you got on ?

2016 - AI's not too difficult against weak SH opposition

And I accept you can only beat what is put in front of you
but your claim that you are beating NZ for games won
and this in some way implies that you are better than them
is at best laughable.

Yes I think you have some wonderful players and some
who will become world class if given the chance but IF
you are to have a genuine shout in 2019
some of the old wood needs cutting out and replacing now if it is
not too late already.

And yes you may well win this 6N with a GS but I maintain
that imho you are not as good as you think you are
and certainly not as good as you could be.

Lies,lies and damn statistics :dontknow:

Yes definitely. If we could somehow beat Ireland then we could still win the title. It will be devilishly difficult in Dublin though.

Would be happy with another BP there; win would be great. I think we should finish third and outside chance of second.

We currently think we are the 2nd best side and currently we act like we are. "Yes yes I know you've basically won everything but here's why for whatever reason every win you've had doesn't count for much". Seriously, who do you think looks more ridiculous here, you for trying to find reasons for all the England wins over the last 2 years or me for pointing out we've won more games since the last WC than NZ? You seem to forget the sides NZ have beaten we have also beaten. Going to claim NZ face more difficult opposition? NZ have played Australia 6 times and won 5, England have faced them 5 times and won 5. South Africa? Please... Argentina? We beat them too. Ireland? Yeah lost to them once same as NZ.

Bottom line is, England should be good with a player base bigger than the other home nations combined...and they are.

They often underachieve given this but they will never be terrible.
