It sounds as if they deliberately let France score that try according to BBC report, but I saw nothing in he Italian game to worry Ireland .

If we bring our best game, a BP win is feasible.

They have sprung surprises on us periodically, however.

They did us last year , I spent the entire game waiting for us to tear them apart, it didn't happen , but a bonus point against the azzuri is a must to have a chance of the title.

I really think James Ryan is a superb addition to the Irish pack, really makes us that much more expansive with Henderson doing all the donkey work and not being too bad with the ball in hand either! I thought we were very good int he France game until we reached the 22 and then we got super conservative and it cost us too many times. Would also like to see the backs drawing more players onto them, too many times the plan was getting the ball out wide as quickly as possible and it made it super easy for France to defend.

Italy tends to get worse as the tournament progresses. Should be a 30+ point win.

SKY news reporting that Van der Flier is out for the rest of the season.

Ryan was super for Ireland last w/end :thumbright:

The half backs were again excellent, ....important they keep them otherwise could be shaky.

Sexton, as always, will be targetted

Carbery is seen as Sexton's inevitable and ultimate replacement (at one time that would have been Madigan); extremely creative, but whether he could have pulled off a 45 yard DG in overtime, is another issue entirely, so yes it's essential, he stays healthy.

I thought that when Sexton returned from Racing he was in a somewhat physically distressed state and I thought that perhaps he wasn't going to recover to top gear.

Fortunately that has not been the case and he's as productive as ever.

Before the rape allegation, wasn't Paddy Jackson the main second-choice fly-half?

Exactly the reverse tendency of Wales, which is one of the things that was all the more encouraging and splendid about Saturday's victory.

The only thing Ireland need to be concerned about is losing players. The outcome is never in doubt past half time

I make no comment about allegations, but:-

It was between him and Madigan really, with the Leinster man (eventually) relegated in favour of Jackson, (or so it seemed to me, I could be wrong about that).

Sean you will be gutted if Ireland don’t get the bonus point.
