The six nations is nearly upon us,
and the bookies dont give us a chance.
First England, then ireland and scotland,
with us, the same odds as france.

But I plan on breaking the bookies,
Coz it's been just the same in the past,
and ive put my lot on us winning
and at 50's my pot will be vast

Our autumn well, it is always aweful,
if we win 2 of 4 we've done well.
but in the new year we get better.
Why this is, I really can't tell.

It's all down to the men in the blazers
to pick the right men for the squad,
and to play in a way we can win it,
and maybe some small help fom God

No, we do have the talent to win it.
No matter what pundits may say,
Coz they know no better than i do,

After watching Scarlets and ospreys in Europe I am much more positive. Not getting carried away but as a supporter I don’t feel quite as down about it

Wales main issue since 2014 has been decline in quality of front five forwards. Finally there seem to be some options. The make up of the pack is a key point as both the Scarlets and ospreys play completely different rugby - so what he goes for will be interesting

The other issue is the dreadful coaching staff

Again in midfield they have us down when the others come to town
but we like being underdogs and facing some hard slogs
Wales face up to who is best and have no laurels on which to rest

English and Irish are top rank you can put that in the bank
French and Welsh and Scots come next with the Azuri like rejects
On the field where these things count it doesn't always thus work out
Come to Cardiff on a wave lose the game although you're brave

Off to Twickers to get roughed but we are made of sterner stuff
Ireland really bothers me they are very good we see
Dig in deep and hold them off see if we are good enough
Italy we have at home better here than far off Rome

Do the basics guard the nest and follow training should do the rest
France at home can never tell sometimes loss some give them hell
Which France turn up we hear them say the ones that fold or those that play
Where we finish high or low doesn't matter to the show

If its pleasing to the crowd we will sing really loud
If we fail and turn to solace follow those other alcoholics
We will still enjoy the crack if we are brilliant of if we're cack
Get behind them let them know we are with them when they go

Into battle with the rest we are not worst we may be best
What's expected may not pass no one is a different class

I've got to question your taking on our front five forwards.
Scarlets, Ospreys and Blues have more than held themselves in Europe and in fact in the PRO 14.
The Wales regions (apart from Dragons) have given very few scrum penalties away in Europe and in the PRO14.
The lineouts have been competitive and, unlike the other non-Wales clubs, we have very few non-Wales qualified players in those key positions.

Yeah, I thought Wales' main long-term problem was the lack of creativity among most of the backs.

England think they can't be beaten

I take the point about the backs but I think our scrum has been an issue, particularly in recent games again England. Lineout has creaked, general energy has been pretty poor, and certainly not win the arm wrestle

Gatland style needs a dominant front five.. of all this second playmaker stuff with the lions he still went with a big old unit up front.

Hoping Scotland can kick on from the AIs and play some more cracking rugby and win it all!

They'll crumble againg England and Ireland, as usual.

I think they're a far better side than Wales - but that's understandable - Wales have lost a few flankers.

Well the only Wales game I am not going to is England ,so I am really looking forward to this year's 6 Nations

Actually, it was pretty much the Scarlets' forward pack? Rob Evans/Wyn Jones, Ken Owens and Shingler, plus Ball and Lee would have been there had they been available. Plenty of the other forwards used weren't exactly bulky players, e.g. Cory Hill, Seb Davies, Josh Navidi, Sam Cross. And would you really not have picked AWJ? The only real fatties were Tom Francis and Leon Brown at TH, and given the alternatives to them were Scott Andrews and Rhodri Jones, what actual pack would you have gone for based on what was available? And don't just say James Davies because yes, he is great, but you can hardly say he was overlooked for not being bulky enough when Navidi and Cross got in.
