I have no issues with Dai Young if he is the best coach we can get. But are there other coaches out there who are better? A coach who is from outside Wales may be better?

A Welsh coach outside Wales?

Hmm, is that possible?

What I meant was, we need the best coach we can get. People talk about Dai Young. Is he the best? I don't know. We need the best there is.

The big question is, do the best coaches want to coach in Wales?

It pays well.

Ted and PC Hansen were brought up to a shine in Wales. You have heard of them?

Hmm, perhaps you haven't ...

Ha!

I just don't get this need to pick Dai Young if he isn't best we get.

Loose - yes, as Bouch said, it pays well. I think we could attract most coaches provided the money was right. Assuming that Hansen, Henry and Gatland are amongst the best, then obviously we can bring the coaches here.

Dai Young would be my choice but I don't want Mr Gatland to go. I want him to see out his contract and hand the reins over to Robert Howley, our much maligned attack coach until Dia Young can come in. We love to slag off our coaches in Wales ( he says sitting in his Englaish armchair).I don't want an overseas coach, Kiwi or otherwise. Welsh please.

Who cares where the next coach is from, just as long as he's good enough to change welsh rugby.

Why does it matter where he is from?

I think a foreign coach allows them to work without baggage?

Ahh yes, the past. You seem to live there..... I have no idea why you think GH and SH were brought to a shine in Wales. :D If anything they learnt to get as far away from the NH as possible. :thefinger:
Let’s talk about the present, and the best coaches. Who are they, and are they available come November 2019. Whoever is in the running, sure the pay will be good, but the challenges that he will face are far from being on the field alone.

They are good coaches for sure, just don’t think they were the best before, or after Wales tbh. I guess it all depends on how we define “best”.

I think the problem with people who coach NZ is they will always be made to look better. Not saying any of them are bad coaches but when you have a 1st and 2nd team full of players who can do the basics extremely well and would walk into most international teams, you'd have to be a pretty shit coach to not get something out of them. Having that level of ability allows a degree of coaching you can't achieve so easily with players who cannot be relied on to do the basics right the vast majority of the time.

For example I think what Cotter and Townsend have done with Scotland is more impressive than Henson with NZ. I think if they swapped coaching positions, NZ would continue to dominate the world whilst I'm not so sure Scotland would continue their current improvement.

If by some small chance that your mate B is on the money it just shows Wales desperation means they employ shit coaches. ;)
