When The Republic of Ireland signs a deal with The United Kingdom post Brexit there might be an opportunity for a 'home' team. I can't help but think that it would lack some glamour.

The Barbarians have long since lost theirs.

In fairness, the Barbarians are a different animal to 1973 and THAT game.

I take your point, but do not really see a problem - after all Ireland are still a notch on the triple crown!

I remember 'THAT' game well, I was in the Miner's ward at Sully Hospital having had my lung collapse on me again and awoke every morning to the cough and spit of the heroes around me. At the end of the ward was a B/W tv and we all huddled around it as best we could. So many stitches got split that day :-)

I think you got your notch's right.

Of all the games you guys bring up that one, I'm sure there was at least one knock forward, accidental off side. And a French referee or Wayne Barnes I think..

Na awesome

One of the greatest try's, these are the legends, :cyclopsani:

I think Wayne Barnes has balls.

Wayne's all good, we were a bit precious about that maybe. Still think he had a average game. 2007. But not really really bad, and we have to handle it, we'll get some go our way to and he's improved.

He is an excellent ref that gets it wrong sometimes.
The players seem to respect him and he certainly talks to them constantly so they know where they stand.
No personal experience but he comes across well on the likes of BT' s rugby programme as a genuine lover of the game.
