Or better still, Charlotte Church and Kiri Takanawa should have a fight in their pants.

When will there be a better opportunity to put the game right in the shop window? A game like this could be built into something with genuine global reach.

No it just cheapens it. Kills the goose, you cant return to the moment , its gone, the priorities have gone the significance has gone. It would ruin the whole concept.

The Barbarians play the All Blacks on 4 November. That is of interest to rugby nerds.

Make that the Lions v All Blacks and Sky it up (... the showdown, the shootout, whatever) and every sports fan will be interested.

Make the game a good spectacle and rugby is the winner.

All fur coat and no knickers, kind of thing. Milk it, so "the game" gets money out of it, but it's just spin and *b@ll@cks*. In the end you just tarnish something that you should respect.

Why not hand the game over to money grubbers and the cheerleaders for celebrity teams and forget about international games. Pay to view a made up team. It's what "every sport fan" wants. That and ice cold Buds and a bucket of bacobits.

I am not sure everyone on here is fully comfortable with the professional era.

If the punters are willing to pay then the players should perform the trick.
Not everyone wants rugby to be run like a whorehouse.

I think the tour deserves to be remembered for the series as it is and as it was set up to be, with both teams giving there all and sharing the spoils, certainly doesnt feel like an anticlimax at all. Shoehorning in another test to force a winner is unnecessary and unworkable as the players and coaches priorities should be with their clubs and national teams leading into the important AI's. As others have already alluded to, a unplanned 4th test cannot regenerate the electric atmosphere that presided over the 3 tests.

;)
How about a team of hookers versus a team of hard men.
For the Pay to view, curtains closed, trousers round ankles sports fan.

Too many love the game for what it is not what it can make.

The extra game would require all of the players to come together again, taking a few weeks to get up to speed. It would involve tie coaching staff coming together again. There is no way we would won unless there was a few friendlies before along with a similar level of preparation to the current tour. You would have both coaches and players having to decide whether they play for their countries or the Lions. In short - nice idea but in practice it wouldn't work. It was a draw, and a good result, let's get the season started.

A draw is a valid result, no need to manufacture anything.

Pause on 1:44:56 :) How did they not give a penalty :D

Difficult for me as I thought the ball went backwards into his arms. Sam explains it better towards the end of the post match interview next up on youtube.

On the other hand: perhaps there is a God?
Yep, the ball went backwards from Williams so no offside. It only looks forward due to the speed with which Williams was knocked backwards himself.
