Post Gats and Co
Deserve credit, a lot of credit

Many people (me including) thought a 3-0 series loss was on the cards. Even losing a couple of warm up games and the knifes were out in force people questioning him. Caused a lot of controversy with his call ups, but....

All of his selection calls came off and he's (along with his assistants) not lost a test series as head coach of the Lions 8)

Take a bow for breathing new life into the Lions since their first tour in 2009 along with Geech

It would be interesting to of heard the conversations between the backroom staff. There was a clear shift after the first test and looking at his bench was an indicator (picking Nowell who is defensively weaker than Halfpenny, but a greater attacking threat) and the 10/12 choice showed that a change in philosophy had happened during the tour.

I wonder if he will bring this back to Wales, or return to his normal game plan though.

Maybe it depends on what he has available to choose from back in Wales?

Yes, Gats has done well, but as far as I'm concerned he was doing it for a team other than the one I support. He might as well have taken a year off to compete in the world *tommy tanking* championships.
Back down to earth with a bump now. Can he slip smoothly back into the day job, or will this prove too much of a head turner?

Its the fact of the matter, as Carwyn Jones said, you can't coach in what God left out.

gatland has his eye on bigger things than wales, you can tell. He'd love the all blacks job and there's no way he was going to write off touring South Africa again in 4 years.

Wales deserve better and would be revitalised by a new head coach.

I really do despair at times. Exactly what has Gatland and Howley got to do and where exactly do people think we will be with new management?

it wont be long after he comes back to his day job that there will be talk from the usual loud voice brigade that the players and the coaching staff did in spite of gatland.

there'll be all this *b@ll@cks* about his style of play being one dimensional and him not able to move forward as a coach etc as he tries to, and in no small measure continue to succeed, polish the turd that is wales.

he would be a *fupping* fool to return here to be lambasted by the loud mouth ignorant media and fans alike as he has been for nigh on the last 4years.

fair play this made me chuckle from twitter

GJPowell‏ @TheVietGwent

Having drawn a Test series in NZ, Gats can now get back to his day job of being told by Cardiff fans he 's not good enough for Wales...
