I know it is hard enough for you Kiwis to count to 15 when they are in the correct sequence so understand your frustration. ;)

Clearly counting from 1-15 or even in reverse is too new fangled for you lot. No wonder you play like it's still 1950.

What? When first Cardiff and then Wales beat NZ?

and yes I know we haven't beaten them since

I for one thought AWJ would partner Kruis, I know its easy to say after the fact but I've won a fiver on it, Itoje off the bench will give us a bit of oomph!
off the bench than any other SR and think this is the thinking of the coaches. didn't see liam coming in tho,

And I won a breakfast (with extra black pudding) on LW being at FB over 1/2p.

The only call I had wrong in the starting 15 was I had Ken Owens to start, I did also flip flop over AWJ vs Itoge but settled on AWJ due to experience and leadership.

I thought LW had a good game, and attacks better than 1/2p but, gats has been a little conservative so was the call from his other coaches but was there a concession that allowed !/2p to the bench!!!

I like the back three - I breathed a sigh of relief that North was not picked but I do not understand why
Halfpenny is on the bench

10/12/13 - good defence poor handling - I cannot see the ball getting to the back three

Liam Williams instead of Halfpenny is a bold call. They realized the need to score tries, and while a defensively solid fullback is a bonus I don’t think it would have made much difference for blunting the AB’s attack.

I think the loss of Hogg was a blow, he would likely have been selected instead of Williams if he had been fit.

I have no idea how you can say Farrell and T'eo are poor handling ?

J Davies perhaps ...

The centre combo and the kiwi-lions game around here will be excellent.
I think with JD and Te'o they have been dominant, and as someone pointed out both losses, and with NZ dominant in the Blues and Hurricanes centre battles, JD and Teo didn't start.

Is Te'o centre or 2nd five
Id play JD against SBW and Teo against Crotty, as SBWs got run around a coupke times vrs Samoa and there may be holes there, and Crotty is OK but Te'o will keep Crottys hands filled.

good centres battle looming

I agree regarding halfpenny - better to have an impact player on the bench like JJ or North. Also Warbs offers little impact from the bench compared to Tips or Stander and Itoje also provides back row cover so perhaps a bit conservative with those two bench options.

Itoje should start on form IMO but maybe WG wants a pack leader in the boiler room for the first 50 mins and sees AWJ as that man?

Nice to see two players from the Tuesday game get test starts - shows the squad that there is always a chance if you play well.

Defence is the key - it's not enough just to stop the ABs the Lions need to prevent their quick progress up the field. Fact is usually the ABs don't need that much possession to do damage - Lions need to stop the ABs support runners, frustrate their game and take chances when they come. This team is good enough to give the ABs a real test

Yes, I would have bet my house on AWJ being the captain if Warburton couldn't get a start. Its a good call.
