Leaving the tour

Shit news for him, probably good news for the Lions

Who's the likely replacement?

Think Gatland will call up a wing/centre because of how well Watson played at full back on the weekend.

Good news for the Lions? Wouldn't he be your first choice 15?

That's what the BBC lady said.

That's why it's good news for the lions

He's a liability and would have cost us points against you lot in the tests

Would much prefer Halfpenny or Watson at 15.

Absolute dung. You clearly wouldn't recognise a rugby player if he jumped up and bit you on the arse.

As I've said in other threads you're not going to beat the AB's by defending against them for 80 minutes and trying to kick the odd penalty. You need to fight fire with fire and try to score more tries. Halfpenny's legs are only used for kicking and Liam Williams whilst a good attacker isn't as potent as Hogg whilst he has also been shown up defensively on this tour.
Watson rarely plays 15, is that sensible?

Have pity, Jill is only around 18 and can't remember Halfpenny being one of the key players that destroyed Australia when the Lions last toured.

I didn't like the thought of Hogg v ABd, suspect defence and they love it when a random break is distinguished and ball stolen ...

However, fair do's when he's good he can be very good, when he's bad he's awful.

We'll never know now, tough on him!

Move on ...

I thinkj BRown is similar .. can get caught in isolation on the break ...

Lions will want shape and a pattern they can exert ..

People down on Hogg but he is the same calibre in terms of performance and ability as Liam Williams.

Don't think Liam is a diver

Liam has matured a bit over the last year or so, Hogg hasn't

Matured but exactly has he done? Hardly saw him in the 6N, you didn't know he was there most of the time. Hogg was awarded player of the series.

He's either hot or cold, and the extreme of both. Just don't like him as a personality and admire players like Barclay who are classy and professional.

Pity, as I would like to have seen the AB's run by him and score 40 in the tests.

We lack match winning wingers. Only North has the potential and he's had his probs.
I like Liam W ..wysiwyg .. and he's tough, competitive, wont let you down in defence, will take chances offered good on the hi ball (despite probs there in other match) etc .. but he ain't an out and out winger and he doesn't have the glitter.

I'd prefer him to Hogg @ 15, especially in S Hemp.. Hogg goes off in lone attack, sometimes caught without support and robbed and in defence on a one on one I wouldn't back him.
