What happens to Wales next season?

Player of the Tour – Davies
Lions starters - Williams, Faletau, Jones and Warburton,
Lions replacements – Webb, Owens and Halfpenny
Starter near-misses – Biggar and Tipuric
Injured probable starters – North and Moriarty

That’s eleven of the top players in the world. This should be the bedrock of a winning team. If Wales go back to the mediocrity of the last few seasons, we know who to blame.

As you are using the Lions as a yardstick,You have just hoist yourself with your own petard.

Head Coach - Gatland
Attack Coach - Howley
Kicking Coach............. I could go on

Also I would contend that had they taken Rob Evans he would ,at the very least, have been on the bench.

Even before he injured his finger he wasn't selected for the Lions.

I think the Lions has showed the Welsh players are capable of more than they have shown for Wales for the last 3 years. They will really need to identify the problem.

Farrell has probably done the most to damage his reputation with the Lions. The whole "iceman" image (which I hated every time they brought it up) took a knock as did his defence, although he does play a certain defensive style that relies on cutting down the options quickly rather than necessarily making the tackle.

JD, Warbs and AWJ all got credit. Liam Williams a bit too up and down, moments of brilliance but mixed with failing to do the basics of a FB at times. SOB absolutely fantastic. Itoje, Watson, Teo, Sinckler and Daly I think could all come out better than they went in as well.

Agree with all of this apart from Daly who I think is defensively weak. Farrell came out evens. Sinckler is a beast.

The thing about Daly is he isn't a winger, he is a 13 and has been repeatedly asked to defend out of position against the best side in the world, so for that I give him a bit more leeway.

North was probably unlucky not to get a cap in all this, looked good against the Hurricanes

To the English fans, does George now replace Hartley?

I wouldn't have thought so that would mean Eddy admitting he got it wrong :D

I think the sole reason that Hartley stayed is Jones wanted him as captain and didn't want to change too much too fast. I think Hartley will be dropped now and replaced with one of George, Taylor, Cowan-Dickie depending on form. There is literally no case to be made for keeping him and having the captaincy is not a good enough reason.

I would suggest that Cole and Hartley are yesterdays men but
I think Marler may hang on in there for a couple of years.

Besides the result (drawn series) which is almost a win for the Lions. Was George that dominant? Or is time just up for Hartley?
