Looks like Romain Poite and George Ayoub will have a massive say at the end of the tour.

I trust there is a fail-safe mechanism in place so that they can be removed if they have a diabolical first appearance.

Romain Poite and Controversy

http://www.irishexaminer.com/sport/rugby/silveretian-left-enraged-by-roman-poite-decision-391227.html

A firm hand from Msr Poite.

http://www.scottishrugbyblog.co.uk/2013/10/love-to-loathe-referee-the-hardest-job-in-rugby/

Merely a wobble.

Referee Poite is unlikely to be intimidated by captains on the pitch.

Googling "Poite and controversy" and "Poite and apology" leads one into murky depths though.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

George Ayoub has a history of TMO excellence.

He is a very good referee and the players seems to adapt to him. His English is better than most PI players, so that should not be a problem :D :P

Yeah, it's a bit rough bro. Not quite sure why PIers were used, and not the welsh, scots and Irish. It is NZ vs the mighty lions after all.

Isn't the itinerary and refs for matches of interest?

I admire the ABs 'cos traditionally they do their homework and play what's in front of 'em including the ref.

I am distinctly in favour of play the ref irrespective and get on with it.

Mention who you want. I couldn't care less who refs which game. If we don't play to the ref and lose, it's our fault, not his. Something you want want to think about before your next ref whinge. :thefinger:

You guys complained about Barnes for years. Non-stop for years.

O'Brien even tried to get Barnes off the Elite List, Loosey.

And you comment on our attitude to refereeing game changers?

:D :D

Obrien is one person, Id say many welsh have had issues with him too. He is too emotive and likes the limelight. The sending off of Dylan Hartley was interesting

Please, don't protect O'Brien.

His failings as a ref were carried through to his sinecure with the IRB for years before his Barnes Brainfart saw him released from the Referees Board in May 2012. Some press reports say he supported Barnes - yeah, right.

Matt, Paddy's son has himself been involved in controversy and that was disappointing for Australia Rugby.
