North Island is 665 miles top to bottom.

South Island is 522 miles top to bottom.

Travelling North, South and South, North a few times will be expensive.

It's designed to make the touring team as uncomfortable as possible. it's very clever

1971 wasn't about travelling - it was the refereeing that lost the Lions a few props.

Yes, just off the domestic play offs and a 30+ game season, onto a plane to New Zealand-I am sure that is what they wanted :D ;)

Hmmm. LE or Tew, who to believe!? :D
I don't know what the fuss is about, it's only a few games of rugby, the lions will have a shit ton of the finest players the U.K. Has to offer, what could possibly go wrong?

While a good point, it is not really relevant for today's game and players.

I think the Canterbury game did all that feisty stuff well most of it.

Yep re different days...

BUT who would write a better mid RWC series (gees don't hear that word series much anymore)
The 2 time RWC champs and saving grace of Southern Hemisphere rugby(apologies Argentina).
Against the mighty Lions with the AB winning Irish, the great 2017 English team, the all improving mighty Scots and wales.

Harden up boys it's gonna be the best ticket in rugby, a fair contest because MCaws not playing. And no class A drug cheats cause they're all in *fupping* France, or commentating in England.

Bring on the biff, can't do that I spoke, bring on the big high hits, mmm probably can't do that either, bring on the rip shirting bloody back rucking, can you still do that? *fupping* bring on the partying, kiwi shagging, sheep shagging Lions.

Ahhh ahh ahhhhhhhhhhhh :thefinger:

Never heard of Lions tour down here being a circus..

But hopefully good rugby and more competitive than other recent tours, 77 and 81 last real hard tours.

Could be a circus and Lions dont live up to it and are shit.
