We all know that we have had a gut full of Rob Howley and to a lesser degree Warren Gatland, and indeed it is time that things were freshened up, but what would be your ideal coaching set up. Dai Young, Steve Tandy, Vern Cotter, Clive Woodward, Wayne Pivac or some other Kiwi etc etc.

What are the thoughts out there and what coaches would you like in place in terms of attack, defence and so on. Richard Cockerill, Gruff Rees, Stephen Jones, Jonathan Humphries, Sean Holley etc.

Please show imagination and think outside the box

Any change now would mean the WRU admitting it has made big mistakes. Can anyone see that happening?

Probably not viable as due to prior commitment but Dai Young (head coach), Jon Humphreys (forwards coach, done a good job with Scotland), Stephen Jones (attack/ backs coach) and we can keep Shaun Edwards (wales defence still strong and don't think there is anybody better available currently) jinx can stay as kicking coach and chief water boy

One quick point, I'm not arguing either way for Tandy or Pivac to coach Wales, but for those who wish for them to take the job, who then replaces them? In some ways decent regional coaches are as important as the national ones.

Both Tandy and Pivac have done well with very little money. Pivac especially without all the NDC's the Ospreys get handed.

I would not be sorry to see Geraint Lewis in the set up at the team Wales level.

I would like to see Dai Young involved, and I think Lancaster is a very, very good coach who was not given fair play with England.
Either or both these would be fine with me, but who to have as a specialist "attack coach" I dont know.
Pivac seems to be ok, but we only have one example, and there are others working with him who's influence may be what we see. I liked Nigel Davies, but then again, am not sure enough to put him forward.

What we need is a board meeting of experts who will not just push their mate or golden boy.

Additional to above, I would like Gats to still be head coach, and we can not really fault Edwards as defence, unless that is what is buggering up the attack?

Not time yet, but Strange seems very attack minded

Telling for me is that I couldn't really see the likes of Schmidt, Cotter et al buggering off to the likes of Lions leaving compromise.

That type of committed, capability, expertise and character engenders the TEAM and that includes a coaching team too.

Carwyn oozed it!

Cotter's farewell on Saturday underlined that. It wasn't just the win that caused the emotional overspill ;)

I also think that Townsend has a similar quality.

And that's the bottom line. Ian Ritchie and the English RFU did exactly that and cleared it out, albeit with a blank chequebook. I can't see the WRU changing direction.

Not so sure for once. It could be Davies' final rejection of the Lewis tenure...takes guts though ;)
