Post WANTED Welshmen who can make a tidy pass
Is Alan Bateman still getting about? Iestyn Harris? Gav?
Forget finding giants for our backline.
Let's have pace and skill.
Welsh passing has been painful - ankle-high, bouncing, behind the man, into the stands.
Soft hands, please. Sharpish.

I thought that I must admit.

All the controversy about penalty try yes or no for the deliberate knock-on, but if the pass was timed properly there would be nothing to discuss -- even if the 9 did get to North, there is no way he would stop him scoring.

I think the majority of welsh players can pass and pass well, we just tend to hold the ball and not
chance the pass,
I have discussed the offload with some of the posters here, I believe it is the most difficult to defend against.
The ABs do it so well, the lions defence will be good as that is a strength of Gats, but the ball out of the tackle is what the ABs do, and they do it very well, we must deny them the ball or our chances of winning are small

Yes, if only we had a couple of players who could pass the ball.

I mean, that Rhys Webb pass to Leigh Halfpenny that made the try against Ireland was just awful wasn't it?

It was out of the blue.

Surely difficult to say anything about the timing and trajectory of the pass since it was illegally blocked. if anything Biggar (?) did the proper thing, drawing the man and giving the pass. It was a difficult one to judge, it does look like the defender moves his arm towards the ball.

perhaps passing skills under pressure would be the proper title? as soon as the players are rushed by the defensive line the quality decreases.

Passing while running forward seems to be the issue. How many times to they ship it laterally while standing still? It's either run straight and hang on or jog slowly and pass.
Multitasking - that's the key.

A number of times our backs seemed to be lying several yards too deep behind the ball carrier. One defender could cover at least 2 of our men.

Then either the pass was too flat or it was delayed slightly too long. In that part of the field, 2-on-1 with only the 9 covering across, international backs should score every time.

Links to what I said on other threads. The problem is not the coaches or the strategy. The players have to do the right thing when they get the opportunity.
