 Re: Lions 1XV
Didnt want to but for you
S Hogg A Watson Jamie Joseph O Farrell G North (if the real one turns up) J Sexton R Webb
M Vinipola K Owens T Furlough (wavering a bit after last night) A W Jones M Otoga (sorry if spelt wrong and he could possibly play at 6) S Warbuton B Vinipola CJ stander (is that who I picked)
If MO is at 6 and Gatland feels he can play there then someone like Lawes or Launchbury comes in.

 Re: Lions 1XV
I think you mean Jonathan Joseph and Maro Itoje. But yes, it looks like a good selection.

 Re: Lions 1XV
Apologies but they are the guys! What other selections could improve the side?

 Re: Lions 1XV
I know this will not make me popular, but Murray over Webb every day of the week! And Any of Kruis or Launcbury over AWJ, North and Daly will be interesting, but apart from that not a bad selection

 Re: Lions 1XV
Murray is ahead of Webb (who id have on the bench) for me
The bench will have a big impact on the series aswell which is why I'd perhaps put Makko Vunipola on the bench and have one of Evans or McCrath to start
AWJ is nailed on in the starting spot and captain for me, although I do think Warburton has played himself in such good form he could easily be captain.

 Re: Lions 1XV
AWJ is a Welsh and Lions legend, but if we have aspirations to win this tour then he is nt the answer, whether that be as a second row or Captain. Not when you look at what Itoje, kruis, launchbury bring to the game. He will tour, and may be a good tour captain, but he is not a Lions XV player that would concern the AB's

 Re: Lions 1XV
Should he even be captain after recent events? Nor sure that he is even nailed on as an automatic starter although pretty sure he is already on the plane. In his favour is that there don't appear to be that many credible alternatives in the captaincy stakes.

When I saw this I thought TF the tight head was ours for one awful minute Also I'd have Liam ahead of Hogg & George & Hartley ahead of Ken O

 Re: Lions 1XV
Launchbury is excellent but I don't rate Lawes who I think is a flat track bully. Also Lawes must be a dreadful scrumager if he has to be moved to 6 for every scrum. Would not even have him on tour. AWJ,Launch,Kruis,Itoje,Jonny G,Henderson,Charteris all ahead of Lawes imho.

 Re: Lions 1XV
For your Captain it has to be a player that nails his place in the Lions side during this Tournament, to me that is Farrell.

 Re: Lions 1XV
Liam & Hogg in equal measure. Jamie George perhaps ahead of Ken Owens, yes, but Dylan Hartley I don't think is that brilliant at all.
