The Martyn Phillips interview of his 15 targets on another discussion says the same.

May actually be the smarter career move long term, though the rumoured £700K or so to live on the French Riviera for a couple more years must be tempting...

He was on 700k EUROS

However, Boudjellal operates a bonus system ....

He could live in the Cardiff Riverarea. Sit on his balcony and look at Cans (floating past)

Why would 1/2 in his right mind give up french money?

It's OK playing for your Dream Wales .. but if the other tosser's can't be arsed .. why bother?

He signed originally for £600 with Toulon. Heard various rumours ranging from £700-£950 for his new offer. Not sure if any are at all accurate but the only thing a Welsh NDC will offer him is less game time, better management and for him, more chance of prolonging his Wales career.

Each international gets minimum £10k a game (and that's absolute minimum!) plus win bonuses. He'll make £50k minimum playing for Wales in 6 nations, 40k in Autumn and any tour in summer. That's another 100k without win bonuses.

With Leigh, he'll have a decent whack coming in from merchendising - think he's with maximuscle and underarmor.

There isn't money that competes with other sports, but most modern top professional, international players are earning over £200k a season.

Not sure how the Gatland's law will affect his decision making, he's by no means a certain starter. There's some quality coming through with wingers (Giles, Hewitt...) and Liam Williams is a better 15. I think he'll sign an NDC with Blues. Hasn't played well or improved as a player in France. He's a home bird too. I'd take the money with a pinch of salt, no one knows the exact amounts. Club salary and total earnings may not differ that much either way if you take everything into account.

And dont forget he is paying 45% on that, so in reality 100k extra is "only" 60k, which he could pick up with a couple of presentations.
