Post Over rated players in international teams.
To start this off I'll give 3

Stuart Hogg - defence laughable
Dan Cole - other than scrum time near zero work rate
Gareth Davies - the vision of a mole eg cannot see backs when we have 5-2 overlaps

So who else can we add???

Can't agree about Cole. His all round performances are good. 9 tackles yesterday which is about his average at test level. Not exactly bad for a scrummaging tighthead is it?

Agree about the other 2 though.

Jon Davies. I honestly don't know what he is there for, can't pass won't pass. Classic example yesterday of his repeat offence. Halfpenny joined the line outside him, Davies passes to the wing who was on the touchline, the pass did the defenders work for him.

This is not an isolated incident, he's very good at it

Leigh Halfpenny - a sound rather than spectacular full back who got overrated due to his goal kicking.

1/2P 's commitment at FB cannot be questioned, I have no idea why he takes the kicks though unless they are long range efforts, it should stay with Biggar ( if he's in the team), as he is metronomic.

For England:

Brown - Past it.

Cole - Doesn't offer anything outside the scrum and even then isn't that destructive.

B Youngs - Some great moments but is too slow and frequently throws atrocious passes that put the entire team under pressure.

Cuthbert - at present. Seriously needs to get back what was once there but feel his best days are gone! He's young enough but still feel there is something blocking him. Mental perhaps?

This has to be a wind up coming from an Englishman :thefinger:

Why? This is about overrated players. Exclusion from the list doesn't mean the rest are great, just that they aren't deemed to be better than they are.

I think the fact that Hogg is up there with Sanjay as one of the best full-backs in the European/World Rugby probably excuses him from this list.
