Saints are awful. Quins are up by 30, and haven't been particularly good themselves

The Saints fullback is sure possibly one of the poorest professional rugby players I've ever seen.
Jamie Roberts showing up well enough

Roberts is dominant, playing well.

I shuddered when North came on, had a knock immediately and limped away from the tackle.

He's recovered but is looking like a man struggling with the pace of the game.

Loved the comment about Roberts - "He's got a head like a cow!"

He has that.

BTW, Dylon Hartley is a tit.

Handed off by a scrumhalf?

Mallider Jr looked promising at age grade but has been repeatedly shown to be woeful in the senior game in every position he has played. A bit of nepotism kept him in the squad. Unlike Farrell and Ford, he doesn't have enough ability to make the argument that it is also on merit.

Saints look completely lost and Hartley's "leadership" nowhere to be seen. Saints performed best when he wasn't on the field. Don't see how he can stay in the England squad, although he will.

Marcus Smith is looking very very good for an 18 year old, even if Saints were atrocious. Great vision and selflessness so far. Hope he doesn't go all Cipriani on us.

Here's the match report :-

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/rugby-union/2017/12/30/harlequins-50-northampton-21-quins-bag-seven-tries-against-sorry/

Dylan Hartley, the England captain, missed five tackles, including a hand-off by Care for his first half-try, Harry Mallinder had an afternoon to forget while George North, on as a replacement for the injured Ashsee Tuala, picked up a knee injury on his first game back for 11 weeks.

There's a lot more to ponder in the piece.
