Newcastle Falcons vs Saracens in Philadelphia

I'd say 5-6k is actually a pretty good attendance.

Newcastle are one of the weakest English sides, yes Saracens are strong but they aren't really a global brand like the All Blacks or Manchester United.

So basically this was a game between two sides that would have been totally unknown to anyone except existing Rugby fans - and in an area that isn't particularly known as a Rugby area. A local US team, even one newly established, ought to do least as well.

and there was obviously a 'bung' to go and play there!?

I went to the USC game Saturday night, and we had 97,500 to watch 19 year olds play with beer sales banned ;)

I am not aware of another USC team that draws 100,000 for home games.
