7-22. This is one of those 'death by a thousand penalties' matches.

Vereniki Goneva yellow-carded for deliberate knock-on and Saracens have a penalty try. 7-29.

Maybe that proves that there is little demand for pro rugby here.

Well it took some time for soccer to take off in the US, so go figure for rugby...

Completely different games.

Soccer benefits from a large immigrant population from countries who play soccer.

The Premier League is on live here.

True, especially Latin Americans. However, what I meant was that soccer has always been much more well-known and global than rugby, but still it probably wasn't until the 90's that the US really took it seriously.

Err..the US hosted the World Cup here in Los Angeles in 1994, so I think it as being taken a lot more seriously by then.

Again the US women won the first World Cup for Women in 1991, the women's game is really growing at the grass roots level.

Football does appear to be growing in popularity and with people from football playing countries moving to America then it will always have some sort of appeal.

Rugby does have an advantage in that it is closer to established American sports like American football, which I believe is the number 1 sport over there. It also produces higher scores than the 1-3 goals you often see in football
