Post Biased Guscott
Jeremy Guscott's world XV from his BBC column:

15. Kurtley Beale 14. Chris Ashton 13. Conrad Smith 12. Sonny Bill Williams 11. Hosea Gear 10. Dan Carter 9. Ben Youngs 8. Kieran Read 7. Richie McCaw 6. Jerome Kaino 5. Victor Matfield 4. Courtney Lawes 3. Dan Cole 2. Bismarck du Plessis 1. Andrew Sheridan.

I cannot believe the utter bias towards the English, after one good win against the Aussies...it breaks down to this:

Aus: 1
Eng: 5
NZ: 7
SA: 2

Is Guscott honestly believing that, out of those autumn internationals, England would have 5 players in the world 15? I can agree with him on most of this selection, BUT, to put Cole and Sheridan ahead of Adam Jones and Gethin Jenkins is ludicrous, as well as the South African front row who would also have slotted in ahead of the English props. The Welsh pack, particularly in the scrum, has been the strongest from the Northern Hemisphere teams during these autumn internationals and has more than matched the Southern Hemisphere teams. Is this Guscott's ignorance of an effective front row, or just simple bias?

This is, unfortunately, the English media at its best - a huge amount of hype following a single good performance. I'm glad that South Africa put them in their place.

Thanks.
Yeah have been very impressed with Beale, but I am a big fan of Muliaina. I don't think I've ever seen him have a bad game, a very understated player who scores plenty of tries! SBW brings a whole new thing for defences to think about with his offloading ability, a new type of 12 really.

I think I'll enjoy this forum! I'm sure Guscott will post plenty more on his BBC column for me to rant about!

I think its quite unlike him tbh.On his bbc column I only pay attention to questions asked towards him regards Ireland and to be fair he is usually complimentary and balanced.

I would agree on youngs, not sure about the other maybe Dan Cole.

he does not seem to like the frenchies either - I would have had Parra before Youngs (who certainly is very talented)
