Altrad looking to invest in Glous
Reported that Altrad the billionaire owner of Montpelier is looking to invest in Gloucs too. There may be conflict of interest objections from EPRC but Altrad is a somewhat viscious foe Multinationalisation for rugby .....

Re: Altrad looking to invest in Glous
reference (La Depeche today) Looking to takeover Gloucs. Article suggests that he's treating rugby like he treats business, looking for broader bas and has set up a Co 'Altrad UK Ltd' to facilitate the business. Discussions reported as advanced... looking for year end solution. Looking to 55% capital .... Already in discussion with EPRC ref conflict of interest etc ..

EPCR statement on the current situation. This guy is seriously wealthy. The shed will be painted gold if this goes ahead. What's odd though, is why Gloucester, when there's a fantastic opportunity just down the road to buy the Dragons ? http://www.gloucestershirelive.co.uk/ep ... story.html

Re: Altrad looking to invest in Glous
Looks like Altrad ownership of Gloucs will be confirmed next wk and Saint Andre, Azam and Ford (ed will terminate in favour of Galthié at end of Season) to take over coaching

Re: Altrad looking to invest in Glous
Reported that Altrad will be allowed 45% of Gloucs holdings but not 50% of the total by the EPCR He could still swing voting though

Rejected by the majority of the cartel eh. I wonder what the reasons behind that were ? Big loss for Gloucester that, although I expect their loss will be someone else's gain.

Wow, strong stuff from Altrad, as he points to the finger at " certain stakeholders " in PRL. GLOUCESTER RUGBY STATEMENT ON PROPOSED MOHED ALTRAD INVESTMENT http://www.gloucesterrugby.co.uk/news/1 ... PZ3Y1TTWhA

Re: Altrad looking to invest in Glous
When Altrad took over Mop he flooded the squad with Boks, sacked the Coach Galthié (went to Industrial Tribunal) ... Hired JakeWhite, replaced by Cotter upcoming Season. Pretty ruthless guy and businessman, shakes trees, ...maybe PRL just want to preserve their control......?..? He also tookover the Mop multi sports stadium in quite a contentious battle, also has sposored French jersey when first offered for sponsorship ... No half measures with him. His history is well published and reported for his rise from poverty to billionaire with International Co over 100+ countries.... (biography easy to find on internet)

It would seem the vote was split on this within PRL. So not so much PRL wanting to preserve control, but certain clubs within PRL who would not want Altrad pouring money into Gloucester. Thereby, protecting their own interest. This lot are nothing more than a cartel. No doubt it'll be quickly brushed under the carpet, just like the salary cap issue.
