Very happy to be proved wrong here, I had the Scarlets to lose this one, this is a big statement from them, to go away from home an win well is no mean feat, I hope they get to play Leinster in the final, if so I think we'll see a different game from the Champions Cup semi.

Magnanimous in a victory.

I would like to distance myself from that ugly remark by Langland Exile. Not nice and IMHO not necessary.
I thought that Glasgow showed tremendous resolve but just lacked the finesse.
Glasgow with that performance would have rocked many sides, but they lacked the ability to finish and made too many tactical errors and a number of stupid infringes. Also, too many of their players hung onto the ball too long and eventually died with it. Van der Merwe was a case in point. Very nuggety hard to bring down but no ability to find his teammates.
Scarlets, on the other hand, was a class act in finishing, notwithstanding being second best in the loose exchanges by a very aggressive Scots team.
I might add that it was a good warm-up for the final against Munster or Leinster.
I thought McNicol was a few games short of match fit. Some of his decisions were not that great.
Gareth Davies had glimpses of coming back to his best but was a bit slow in clearing the ball. This will not do against the Irish.

It's not ugly, it's merely accurate.

The Glasgow team were overly aggressive, and took a number of cheap shots at Scarlets' players, some of which the referee caught. They were beaten by a better team, and the constant booing of the referee was in very poor taste. Ibrox manners, not fit for rugby.

Toast to Hadrian, and I for one wish the wall was far far higher.... :P :D

Let him who is without sin cast the first stone??

[quote="cosh"]Can’t argue with a deserved victory tonight and like others, hoping to meet Leinster in the final to decide who is the best side in Wales, Scotland, Italy and Ireland. Oh, hang on, we already know who are the best team not only in our league, but in every league, and that is Leinster by a country mile.
The play offs are a sham in my opinion, let’s say Munster beat Leinster and we beat Munster, does that make us the best team in the pro 14,, not in my opinion. We all know that on the day, most teams can beat other teams in the pro 14, but it does not prove that the most consistent team - irrespective of International call ups, which affect every nation - should be declared pro 14 champions because they win a 2 game play off, it’s a bloody farce. How can anyone think that Leinster do not deserve to be champions is beyond me and also why play such games which could, and has happened in the past through unnecessary injuries at this stage of the season, effect national touring squads. God knows we are seriously weakened at the moment, can we really afford to lose more players because the powers to be think that the most consistent team be subjective to a play off series, crazy !

Sounds like someone is scared of meeting the Scarlets again, and seems to think Leinster should be made Pro 14 Champions by default. As far as being champions of Europe by a country mile, the game v Racing was very close and could have gone either way, hardly a country mile.

Some sour grapes from Glasgow, Scarlets being accused of gamesmanship, of course no one else does this, everyone plays it strictly by the book, and I wouldn't even call players being injured gamesmanship.

Anyone know why the final is in the Aviva again? it was there last year, why is it there again? can't they share the final out, or must the Irish always be at home.

Cardiff was booked for more important events than rugby apparently :D
Nobody wants to go to Scotland.

Does make you think WTF is going on, they could have played it at Cardiff City stadium, or a football ground in England, there's no shortage of stadiums in the UK. The Aviva seems to have the monopoly on big games at the moment.

It does seem a bit shit doesn't it. Surely it should be rotated between the nations? Or simply go to the neutral? Or maybe whichever nations teams finished bottom.

Scarlets have been given a unique opportunity here, to have a cup final against a team who just beat them in a massive semi final, these players can redeem themselves immediately, very rarely does this happen, normally players get to stew on big defeats for a long time. I hope they make the most of this, and go at Leinster with all guns blazing.
