Blues:

Matthew Morgan; Aled Summerhill, Blaine Scully;
Garyn Smith, Steven Shingler,
Gareth Anscombe (c), Lloyd Williams;

Rhys Gill, Kirby Myhill, Taufa'ao Filise,
Damian Welch, James Down,
Macauley Cook, Olly Robinson, Josh Turnbull

Replacements: Ethan Lewis, Brad Thyer, Dillon Lewis, Ben Murphy, Alun Lawrence, Lewis Jones, Harri Millard, Max Llewellyn.

Lotsa names in there that are new to me.

As for :-

Ospreys:

Dan Evans; Jeff Hassler, Hanno Dirksen;
Kieron Fonotia, Owen Watkin,
Dan Biggar, Tom Habberfield;

Nicky Smith, Scott Otten, Dmitri Arhip,
Bradley Davies, Alun Wyn Jones (capt),
Sam Cross, Justin Tipuric, James King

Replacements: Ifan Phillips, Rhodri Jones, Ma'afu Fia, Adam Beard, Giorgi Nemsadze, Reuben Morgan-Williams, Sam Davies, Ashley Beck.

There are many, many familiar names in there - I'll say the Ospreys to win and by more than 10 points.

I think it is a good move putting Steven Shingler in at 12.
If he has a good game today he could well surprise with a trip to Washington and Argentine.

I thought this was a really good game, some really nice skills from both sides. Thought Sam Cross and Otten was excellent for the Ospreys, as were Watkin and of course Biggar in the backs.

I thought that it was a competitive match.

Evan, I thought Cross was very evident too.

Biggar showed he's the best 10 ;)

Don't understand why BR (above) was moaning?

The Blues backs were impressive. Strong running, lovely skills and Nipper in good form. Pack solid, competitive.
Thought the match was tough for us and could have easily lost but for forwards led by AWJ. Biggar the match winner, as usual. Big shoes to fill. Next year....?

It was a pretty entertaining match, but still it really has come to something that nowadays the Ospreys can only scrape past an under-strength Blues team.

This was a beter game to watch than the Dragons v Scarlets game. Given the way the Os started I thought it was going to be a 50 pointer for them, but it never happened.

And the replacement scrum half played well I thought. Thats the second new Os scrum half in as many games and both seemed quite handy. I liked the way Biggar went up to him and presumably calmed his nerves when he came on.

That also reflects the progress made at the Blues though. Think what an "under-strength" Blues side would have looked like just 3 or 4 years ago ... it would have been a massacre.

Obviously, some thought the game was exciting, be that as it may.
Unfortunately, I watched the game without having my usual glass of red. :thumbup:
I felt the intensity was lacking, in fact, it was more lacklustre.
Maybe I was thinking of the intensity displayed by Leinster against Scarlets.
I kept on thinking if Leinster played either of those two sides with the same intensity they played against us, we would be looking at a century certainly more than 50 points on the scoreboard.
Spreys struggled against an understrength Blues, not a good sign going forward.
Sure there were some highlights but they were few and far between. :D

That's the point though - did the match reflect that the Ospreys have been getting worse or that the Blues have been getting better? Maybe both?
