Edinburgh far better team and now Scarlets might need BP win over the Drags now for second place.

Poor selections. I think a few first-team players were needed for continuity.

I can't fault selection. This game is of no consequence and the focus had to be totally on the European semi final next week.

Ulster might complain mind as this makes it difficult for them to catch up with Edinburgh now to get that quarter final spot.

Racing have the same dilemma. Champs Cup semi next week and Toulouse in Round 24/26 this weekend with top 2 in Top14 6 getting home semi in the playoffs and 1 less game.

While it is understandable that Pivac wanted to rest his best players for Europe, the selection of such an under-strength team was genuinely risky and going too far. Not even Leinster and Saracens have such unlimited strength-in-depth to make so many changes and not face the consequences, let alone Scarlets - however much they have been improving, they aren't (yet) at the level of those two.

naj, it wasn't risky as there was nothing at stake with this game.

Just to put things into perspective, Leinster's second-string have lost 15-17 at home to Benetton! :wtf:

It could make the difference between a home or away QF.
