Feel sorry for black there. Ultimately, there's no way you're going to win a tight game with a referee that constantly against you. Without the TMO to bring him back into line a few times it would have been even worse.

1 point defeat is acceptable given what they were up against. They really should have country-neutral referees for big derby games.

I think you have swallowed too many nitrogen bubbles... :D

Scarlets clearly the better team and deserved winners. Steff Evans is like another halfback at the end there.

However, in the first half, Cory Hill owned him. In the second I don't think Cory saw the ball. He certainly wasn't looking for it.

Think you mean Cory Allen.
There's so many Corys about right now it's like the Lost Boys. :D

Yep! And it was only my second glass of red. Yeah! I did mean Cory Allen. :D
Cory did look good in the first half. In the second he was AWOL.

Joining this chat a bit late and not read beyond page 3 of this thread, apologies if I have missed discussion. But for me, I think the Scarlets are playing like I want a team to. They have won me, I now consider myself a Scarlets fan. They are the best team for a long time in Wales.

An enjoyable game, with a good atmosphere despite the poor attendance and at least it was a close contest rather than one side completely dominating the other.

It was an Irish ref  I thought the decisions favoured the Ospreys. Although this result in isolation would appear acceptable as part of what is going on, it clearly was not. The fact they gave Tandy a three year contract was insane. Why would you do that after the way last season ended. A year extension should have been the most on offer. Osoreys never looked like scoring a try

Commiserations to Ospreys fans.

I think the Scarlets victory is testimony to the benefits of a good coaching team. Everyone knew what was coming, it's been talked about on here, on SF, I guess the Os fans forum as well and no doubt the Os coaching staff knew exactly what was coming - the problem is, how do you stop the Scarlets once they get their game going.

I think if the Os developed a similar style of play they would be far more effective, but you have to start pre season - this season is going fast and maybe too late to change course, but the sooner they update their thinking the sooner they will get back in the race.

On the face of it, 18 - 19 looks like a close game. However, on reflection at no tries to three in reality Ospreys were well and truly beaten.
Had Rhys got over all of his kicks it may have been a very different scoreline.
On the subject of Rhys, he let himself down badly if he had ambitions to replace Biggar. In the modern game one cannot enter into an international without a reliable kicker and now that Ha'penny is no longer an automatic inclusion in the Wales team there will be no place for Rhys in the team. Maybe on the bench with Ha'penny and a double change after 60 minutes. I might add that Scarlets had one iffy disallowed try as well, maybe only centimetres short.

I did think that when I watched. Patchell's kicking did him no favours if Halfpenny is not going to be picked.

Any style of play would be an improvement.
