May be you are correct Langland, but you still have to filter through them which can be very boring, and time consuming.

If you are online during the game, you dont have this problem :pirate:

I just look at the time of the post. And usually start reading at posts made when the match has finished.

Spoilsport :D

Ha,

JOHN WALES has a point. Reading the match commentary after a match isn't that interesting. But as someone who occassionally contributes to match threads, I guess I'm like a number of Billy No Mates on here who comments on games when I'm watching alone - it can be useful to clarify what is going on...

As an aside, I note that sometimes my telly must have a delay frok matches as comments appear here ages before I see it on tele.

Yeh, online BBC has about half a min, which is why I only switch to the board during downtime.
You are watching a scrum mid field and someone posts 'what a try!!!'. :D

Match threads are what they are - one liners for the delight and delectation of those posting and watching the game at the time.

Indeed. We are watching the match and conversing about it in real time. If people want an in depth, post match report, full of lengthy, well punctuated sentences, I suggest they buy a newspaper.

When I am watching live I try to think of those not so fortunate and try to keep them up to date with the score and whatever catches my attention. So it will never be an in-depth account. Now and again if the is a holdup in play you can get a little extra in for those not able to watch.

I use radio commentary once in a while when the TV pictures go tits up.

It works well for SH failures.

BTW, did anyone watch the Norwegian fiasco on the weekend?

6 hours and 15 minutes of boredom and - as Sagan made his move - the Norwegians lost the picture for 5 vital minutes and used fixed cameras on the finish line to show nothing bar the spectators until the leading sprinters screamed into view.

Sagan won and the Brit cam in 5th ....

Hoo-fecking-ray.
