When they have a full-strength team, Leinster are the strongest Pro 12 team by some distance (only that IRFU centralised player management and international call-ups do hinder them at times). What is also fascinating is how, in Wales, the West-East divide appears to be getting worse, and it is no coincidence that the Wales internationals who have regressed the most in recent years - Cuthbert, Warburton, Lloyd Williams etc. - come disproportionately from the Blues. The only question is whether it is their poor club form that has translated in turn into poor international form or the other way round.

I don't know the answer but for players like Warburton it must be disheartening to play in a team that gets a hiding all the time.

Round 14 complete. Wins for Ospreys and Scarlets, and defeats for Blues and Dragons. That gap is looking ominous, with the top 6 looking set.

3 : Leinster...... 14 / 51
4 : Scarlets......14 / 44

8 : Connacht ..13 / 25
9 : Edinburgh .14 / 20
10 : Dragons ..14 / 19

What's the latest about the FIR's proposals to scrap them? Haven't heard anything for ages.

Got a feeling the Scarlets v Ospreys game at the end of the season is going to be a nail biter.

The top 4 could well be decided during this international window.

Latest table: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/pro12/table

Am I the only one who thinks there is a bigger gap between the top and bottom halves of the Pro 12 than there is in the Aviva Premiership or the Top 14?

Three from four for the Welsh teams this weekend, with all three toughing out some hard fought victories. Good too see. As for the other result, where do you start with that one ? Drags got hammered at RP, leaking 8 tries in the process. Still no sign of any new investors makes you wonder where it's going to end, or how ?

The bonus points gained by the O's making the difference.

The Scarlets have actually won just as many matches as the Ospreys have, but the difference is the latter have been more clinical and scored more tries.

Close the Dragons down, merge them with the Blues, alternate between the Newport and Cardiff venues and have a massive clear out of both original squads. Perhaps a new East Wales team would be 65% ex-Blues, 35% ex-Dragons?

Not just them, but also East Wales, Edinburgh and Connacht (I still maintain that their Championship win last season was very much a one-off, especially now they have already lost key players like Henshaw, Ah You and MacGinty and Pat Lam is leaving too). I think that Wasps and Saracens are better than any Pro 12 team, but the rest of the top-halves of the two respective leagues are not that different. However, I do think the Italians and maybe the Dragons are weaker than Bristol, Worcester, Newcastle etc. while I am not sure how Connacht, Edinburgh or the Blues really compare to the likes of Gloucester and the Harlequins.

Blues and Connacht are in with a chance to catch Glasgow for 6th place.
