Post The Last Jedi **SPOILERS**
Bloody hell, there's a lot going on in this film :D

Loved it though.

Quite a few cheesy jokes, some worked, some didn't

As a 'middle' film it sets up the next one very well

Bit to all over the place for me tbh

The space chase went on waaaaaaay too long and almost lost me at one point, as did the casino island. Leia floating back to the ship... :wtf:

Some good parts though, Hamill and Driver were good in it and the film really needed more Luke imo. Ren, Ray and Snoke moment was great too

On the whole I left disappointed tbh and felt that what they started to build from TFA has been left a bit of a mess.

People felt that way about Empire at the time

Its a bridge in the over all story, I agree about the casino bit though, looked like a filler

For me it just felt as though Rian Johnson stuck two fingers up at JJ Abrahams and said "I'm doing it my way"

The reveal of rays parents, the snoke scene, Fisher now being killed off off screen, Luke at the end...

Now I know that JJ could still go back on a load of it and it's left it a little open, but just seems no questions were really answered and the ones that were made me feel a bit 'meh'

Also I think Fin was wasted as a character and didn't really offer anything and we've still not learned much about his back story. Considering R2 and Luke haven't seen each other for so long and they had one scene together

Where are the knights of ren?

Parts of it looked fantastic and th sound in the I-max was incredible, but for me it was pretty bad. Might go and watch it again but at the moment I don't think I can fa e watching what was in reality a Spaceballs sequel.

And the start has to be the worst open sequence of any Star Wars movie? That whole Hux and Dameron scene was just cringe

Plus Rob from Stella.... :D

And I couldn't take Vyvyan from the young ones serious at all! :D

Post Re: The Last Jedi **SPOILERS**
I wasn't a fan of the Force Awakens being honest, Forces Awakens was just a re-hash and felt like the Ford, Fisher and Hamill involvement were just to solidify the box office.

This one was a bit meh, some really good parts, some parts the felt a bit weak - it was too long IMO. The actor who plays Finn annoys me, he is a talented actor but the directors have not used his talent by installing the dodgy yankie accent. I felt his scenes were a bit of a waste of time. Did they really need that code breaker business?

Mark Hamill was fantastic I thought as the conflicted Luke, I real good twist that I wasn't expecting... but the very end of Luke was just odd... Yoda lived till 900 years and all other Jedi have been killed in battle, so why have Luke die as a young man of what seemed to be some kind of heart attack - In Return of the Jedi Luke thought that "Jedi's don't die" - apparently not only do they die, but die young men also.

At the moment, perhaps because return of the Jedi was the "complete" ending - these reboots just don't feel right.... still so many answered questioned - there was peace in the force, so where did Snoke come from? And with Snoke's demise, this will likely be ignored.

For all the criticisms of the prequels (but I LOVED them, Jar Jar Binks and some dodgy acting aside) - they completed the saga, they talked about the chosen one who would bring peace back - and yes the original trilogy furthered that story.... so what happened to the peace.... at the moment it feels like we needed a film before the force awakens cos the back story has not been said. For all its critics, the Phantom Menace showed very well how the united peace broke, via Senator Palpatine, so far we do not know how we went from Ewoks dancing to a tiny little rebellion again.

Still expecting a twist there, that was done too quickly and Ben Solo can manipulate the truth.

Sadly I can remember thinking about The Force Awakens and thinking "what has happened to Carrie Fisher" - since when is Leia seemingly from Deep South America, I don't want to speak ill of her, but she wasn't great in this one either. Harrison Ford didn't seem to want to be there in the Force Awakens, but Hamill was excellent in this one.

Post Re: The Last Jedi **SPOILERS**
Yeah that's a fair enough summary tbh

I'm not a fan of the prequels though, the story was good but the acting and scripting was awful imo

TFA was a bit of a rip off granted, but it felt like it was building to something very interesting only for it all to be undone in this one. I came out of TFA thinking it was decent enough but excited to see where they take the story in the next two, I came out of this one totally disappointed and not really caring about any of the characters.

I agree that I think more will be made of Rays parents and I also don't think that's the end of snoke, if it is he has to be the worst bad guy ever? I mean he can get Ren and Ray to see each other etc but not know when someone is aiming a lighsaber at him :D

So much they could have done with this and they kind of played it safe and have so many back stories and answers to fit into one more film. Not sure why we're surprised though because it's made to sell merchandise and that's the main reason films these days.

I do agree although I think Ben Solo killing Snoke was one of the better ideas. One thing this director got spot on was how shite Ben Solo was in the first one. So weak and whiny and yes got beaten by a girl who never picked up a light sabre. Hell even a stormtrooper held his own. If he was to be taken seriously as a baddie then he needed something like that.

Post Re: The Last Jedi **SPOILERS**
Yeah I get the idea of him killing Snoke but just thought the way it was done was a little stupid considering we were led to believe Snoke was so powerful? Also I was looking forward to seeing Snoke v Luke :(

I think he was the way he was in TFA for a reason, so that we could actually watch him grow from the little bitch he was in the first one to hopefully a bad ass in the third

But then he couldn't kill Leia and seems like he doesn't want to kill Ray for some reason either, so where now?

I'd love to have seen Ray turn and kill Kylo tbh :D would have been so much fun seeing this young girl tear shit up as a evil bad ass, then for Luke and Finn to save the day in the third. Would never have happened obviously because of the merchandise benefits of having her as the hero

OR.... Luke turned out to be Snoke... sort of a Jedi trick where he projected the image of Snoke etc, that'd be fun, but again wouldn't have happened because of the uproar it'd cause with the Star Wars super fans :D

Here' a thought. There's always 2 Sith's, master and apprentice. Kylo is on his own and hasn't been signed off. Same Rey on the other side although I fully expect Yoda, Luck, Obi and any other bugger to appear all glowly and green to sort her out.

Is there going to be a twist there? They appeared to be getting along famously at one point before the best light sabre fight ever with the chaps all in red.

Post Re: The Last Jedi **SPOILERS**
These aren't sith though are they? and I think Ren even alluded to idea of a 'grey jedi' where they are both good and bad, ruling the galaxy as a team of some sort?

I think there will be some sort of twist, trouble is it'll seem very rushed considering this will be the last of the trilogy. Empire was bloody brilliant and one reason was because of the twist at the end which set up the ROTJ perfectly

Going to watch it again on the weekend with my son so hopefully I'll enjoy it more.

I have no doubt we'll get some spin offs about Finn etc at some point though?

Post Re: The Last Jedi **SPOILERS**
well I loved it

Yes 20 mins too long and Yes casino bit and Del Toro looked like a vanity project for the director

But

When I saw A long time ago in a galaxy far far away on the screen and that trumpet blast last I just did't care any more

The effects again added, like the First order ships being blown away by a crippled old battered rebel cruiser hitting the accelerator, right up there with both Death Stars getting it,Is the MILF flying it still alive BTW?

I didn't even find the porgs annoying which I thought I might do
