Bloody hell. Always considered him a bit of an arse, but an inoffensive one.
RIP Cheggars.

If you watched his naked quiz show you would change your opinion, he had quite an offensive arse. Still I suspect he did little by way of harm, and seems to have been liked by a lot of people.

Used to cause all sorts of problems in my house om a Saturday morning. My sister wanted to watch Cheggers and Noel on Swap Shop and I wanted to watch Sally James on Tiswas, I seem to remember 1 Saturday it being so bad my old man came in and unplugged the telly

I loved Sally James, really loved her it was genuine, the real thing. I would have filled that bucket for her and not with water. :D

Can remember Chris Tarrant, Lenny Henry, Bob Carolgees and spit the dog and the Phantom Flan Flinger, but have no memory of Sally James. Mind you, I was only about four at the time.
We were a BBC family. ITV only went on for Auf Weidesane Pet and Morse, so I probably watched Noel bloody Edmonds.

Tiswas was revolutionary, though I was too old too watch it regularly I appreciated its brilliance ... I don't know that Noel Edmonds has ever been in anything worth watching. Can't even string a crane right.

I'd just broken into our 1st team I was only 19 and was amazed that even team mates in their mid 30's all wanted to talk about Sally James on the bus going to away games
