Makes you wonder if any other Welsh club has beaten NZ. You'd think they'd hold all sorts of events abd tv shows about it. :D

How could I ever forget.

On this day in 1948 in Felinfoel, Llanelli.

Philip Bennett - former Wales and Lions rugby international and captain. His flair and famous sidestep and swerve, made him a firm favourite with crowds. When Bennett made his debut against France in 1969, he became the first ever Welsh substitute in international rugby. Capped 29 times for Wales, and 8 for the Lions. Benny is now a firm part of the fixtures and furniture at PYS.

He played his club rugby at Felinfoel, and then for the one and only Llanelli RFC, whom he helped to the famous 9–3 victory over the 1972 All Blacks, with a brilliant tactical kicking display. There, it's done, I've mentioned it.

Legend among some wonderful and world class Welsh 10's, can't take that away from Phil fair do's!! Also worth mentioning, that prior to getting his place at 10, he also played/capped at; full-back, wing, Fly-Half, Centre, then back to 10 permanent........... I can never, ever recall, any match, at any level, where he had a bad, or even mediocre game!!

Pound for pound the best kicker on the planet was Phil.

Exquisite timing and brilliant technique saw him nudge the ball vast distances.

His running and passing wasn't bad either.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

according to my records Martin played with Bennett on 16 occasions and during that period he scored 3 pen goals, all in 1975/76 Season?

He scored 2 conversions and 2 pens playing with Bevan in 1975 4 matches

By mentioning Bevan I was only differentiating the period when Martin played with Bevan and not Bennett ..
ref Martin taking the kicks.
In the games Bevan played Fenwick (as you mentioned) scored from kicks v France, Martin v England, Fenwick v Sco and Fenwick and Martin v Aus.... WE WON THAT GAME v AUS 28 -3 :D
