The Wailing on netflix is a Korean horror film. The first thirty minutes are a bit iffy and then it starts becoming darker and darker. It turns into a cracking film which really keeps you guessing. Well worth a watch.

I second that for the Wailing. South Korea has a great movie industry, they aren't afraid of the unhappy ending unlike Hollywood. They often rework Hollywood story lines and clean the flab from scripts. Well worth checking out movies like Train to Busan(zombie), Taegukgi(War),The Handmaiden(remake of The Fingersmith), The Man from Nowhere(think Leon with knives and axes), The Chaser(excop now pimp after a serial Killer) and The Yellow Sea(guy in debt forced to kill to pay off his debt). The last two are directed by the same director as The Wailing.

Film 4 this week has the Japanese Samurai movie 13 Assassins on, fantastic movie with one hell of a sword battle at the end.

Good calls Fingal.
On a separate note I watched Copenhagen on Netflix tonight. Its a little gem. Greating acting by the two leads. Funny and uplifting but also uncomfortable given the age of the gjrl. Really worth watching.

Yes Minister is now on Netflix. Still stands up as funny, despite the years.

I'm going to push Designated Survivor again

First series is just a scene setter

Second series is House of Cards meets Prison Break

Great political and conspiracy drama running along side each other

Ah right, they really mess about with the schedule, 2 series I like are Major Crimes and Suits they are both summer time programs on US TV but both end up with 1/2 doz episodes shown in Jan/Feb

Didn't realise until last week Netflix designated survivor is about 4 weeks behind actual US airings. So ive downloaded elsewhere and well in front.

What im finding is the overall plot for homeland, shooter and designated survivor are all very similar. Shadow government etc etc.
