Post Scarlets best Qs opponents ?
We'll find out today but here's a preview ..

If La Roc and Munster win today (one never knows!!)....

Looks like Scarlets will probably be away to either of them?

Of course the attitude will rightly be 'bring 'em on whatever' but ...

La Roc

The venue is daunting, close to pitch and VERY loud and demonstrative. As competitive an away game as anywhere!

Their game would be ok for Scarlets in terms of they are attack minded and offloading continuous. They have strong forwards and penetrative, guys like Vito are lethal.

They do, however, leave gaps when attacks break down ...

On their day at home they can beat anybody!

Would be a good game and I wouldn't bet on it but ...??

Munster

Well known, daunting venue but Scarlets have won there and know what to expect. I think Scarlets are the better team!?

Of the two and having watched both teams regularly I think Scarlets are better off on the more open Munster pitch.

Good to have missed Leinster but I thnk the best opponents for them would've been against a depleted Clermont home or away.

We're about to find out today and whatever, Scarlets bring 'em on!

Can't see Castres beating Munster away although they deserved to win at hom again and the result was travesty of justice (well reported at the time!)

La Roc should win at home v Quins but stranger things have happened cue the Saints defeat of Clermont etc ...

What about the Wasps v Ulster game Tel does that not have any bearing on who the Scarlets might play?

Gets v complicated ;)

Pools details attached

Ulster with a win = 21pt
La Roc with BP win = 21 pts
I think on count back that would favour La Roc who would win the pool
Scarlets have 21 and therefore under the above circumstance ..Scarlets are pool winners and supersede Ulster
However if Ulster get 5pts they win the pool and supersede Scarlets as better pool winners ...

etc bloody etc :D

Ironically, if the Scarlet are the fifth seed, if they win their away QF, their semi final would be hosted in Wales.

If they are the fourth seed, it will be held in the country of the Number 1 seed, likely Leinster

A home QF would be good for the coffers though

a) For Semi-final 1

If the clubs ranked 1 and 4 win their QFs, the club ranked 1 will have home country

If the clubs ranked 1 and 5 win their QFs, the club ranked 5 will have home country advantage

If the clubs ranked 8 and 4 win their QFs, the club ranked 8 will have home country advantage

If the clubs ranked 8 and 5 win their QFs, the club ranked 5 will have home country advantage

(b) For Semi-final 2

If the clubs ranked 3 and 2 win their QFs, the club ranked 2 will have home country advantage

If the clubs ranked 3 and 7 win their QFs, the club ranked 7 will have home country advantage

If the clubs ranked 6 and 2 win their QFs, the club ranked 6 will have home country advantage

If the clubs ranked 6 and 7 win their QFs, the club ranked 6 will have home country advantage

Looks like a home QF for the Scarlets against La Rochelle then. Happy Days.

its an opinion but its a daft one to think Scarlets will win easy and will qualify from here....especially from such a usually cautious and seasoned observer like you...hard to believe it Terry!

I don't think it will be easy at all, La Roc could do a Scarlets on the Scarlets :D

They are raw in big games nous, e.g they played today with centre/wing Sinzelle at 10 to go balls out for the BP. They left their 10s James and Lamb, both of which were available, out of the squad.

Weather was awful, missed their 3rd try just on half time, let Quins back in it and had no 10 to revert to a controlled game other than their attack at all costs intention. Could have lost it.

Dry conditions could be a try fest
