Post Uplift for EPCR TV rights in the odding?
SFR have just trumped both Canal+ and Bein Sport for the footy Champions Cup TV tights on France by a very significant uplift ((350m frpm 90m)

It is reported that they intend to target EPCR rights too currently a measlyy 30 euros in France

The T14 rights are also up to offer.

Have you seen any figures around how these increases in French TV money are being absorbed in players wages..? This is how the figures stack up in the Aviva :

Quote:
while turnover, fuelled by increased television money, amongst the 12 top-flight clubs increased by £21.4m to £187.9m over the last financial year, annual wage bills rose by £15.8m, contributing to combined losses of £20.1m"........................The combined wage bills of the 12 clubs was £117.8m, equating to 62.7 per cent of turnover – well above normal business rates – with huge operating losses racked up......

Cant give the details yet.

In the Top14 the DNACG break it down into groups which is revealing ....
e.g the top culprits overspend very disproportionately e.g StadE F this Season have a defit reported as between 6 and 8 million, Racing similarly but with different levels of comfort. Toulouse have a deficit of 1.5m and are cutting their costs significantly especially salary bill (i reported their crisis sometime back and people on here didn't believe the potential extent)

PS Rumour has it that German billionaire Wulf will takeover Stade and has already made a success of rugby in Germany.

Billionaire Altrad is in the game now too and expect extraordinary investment from Montpelier too.

Toulon are outlooking a profit but have a 1.5 m fine to contend with :D

Saracens take a large slice of Aviva overspend and this and it's 'purpose' or level of concern has been discussed.

Will come back with new budgets etc soon.

Remember that the outlooked uplift in the first instance relates to EPRC and not Top14.

Hope this helps in the interim.
