Toulon have already booked their place in the quarter-finals but need a win at Liberty Stadium to hope for a home play-off.

Rugby Director Philippe Saint-André has made no less than fourteen changes to the side that beat Munster last week as only fly-half Jonny Wilkinson retains his place in the starting XV.

It's still a strong side however with former All Black prop Carl Hayman featuring in the front row.

More to follow...

The teams:

Ospreys: tbc

Toulon: 15 Rory Lamont, 14 Benjamin Lapeyre, 13 Geoffroy Messina, 12 Mafi Kefu, 11 Thierry Brana, 10 Jonny Wilkinson, 9 Matt Henjak (c), 8 Fotu Auelua, 7 Thomas Sourice, 6 Olivier Missoup, 5 Dewald Senekal, 4 Jocelino Suta, 3 Carl Hayman, 2 Jean-Philippe Genevois, 1 Saimone Taumoepeau.
Replacements: 16 Mickael Ivaldi, 17 Benjamin Basteres, 18 Mehdi Merabet, 19 Joe van Niekerk, 20 Joe El Abd, 21 Tom May, 22 Laurent Magnaval, 23 Kris Chesney.

Date: Saturday, January 22
Kick-off: 15:30
Venue: Liberty Stadium
Referee: Wayne Barnes (England)
Assistant referees: Rob Debney (England), Robin Goodliffe (England)
Television match official: David Matthews (England)
Assessor: Bertie Smith (Ireland)

meh. no whelm. might have been a bit more enthusiastic with a more inspired team, like say hook at 10, beck to start (parker???), ian evans instead of gough, tom smith at 6 with ryan at 8 (or vice versa). i'd actually have preferred barry davies to byrne.

I thought by expanding to Beck they intended to start him.

Webb looked good against Leinster, so hop ehe has a good one.

it's crazy that toulon were practically gifted their first home game win in the last few minutes, Then were completely dismantled in munster conceeding loads of tries, and are now in a situation where they can also throw their final game.... :dontknow:

it's a funny old game :D

There's some first XV in there for Toulon: Henjak, Johnny, Hayman, Kefu, Senekal (i think) plus a decent bench. Still a mix of 1st and 2nd XV.

Well Toulon can`t complain if they fail to get a home tie, if they are playing a SECOND team can they?

Apologies ..... i read your post wrong, thought you were saying that the O's were putting out a second team as well. So the french couldn't complain. I see your point if the french field a weak team they cant complain if they don't get a home drawer.
A thousand pardons sir
