Post Erasmus pull Duane Vermeulen bok nr8 out of the Rugby Champs
Vermeulen will be held in wraps for the WC, limited play in the RCs. Must admit he had a good test against England but not sure if that makes him a bital keg. Seems Erasmus seeks a certain type of player for the WC

"Cape Town - Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus has confirmed that Duane Vermeulen will play a limited role in this year's Rugby Championship.
The 31-year-old was immense for the Boks on Saturday as they overturned a 24-3 deficit to emerge as 42-39 winners against England in their first Test at Ellis Park.
Vermeulen put in one of his biggest shifts in a Bok jersey in a long time, and looking in better shape than he had done in a long time.
It suggests that he could be a massive player for the Boks at next year's Rugby World Cup in Japan, but Erasmus confirmed on Monday that it was important for the Boks to try other combinations before that tournament.
In fact, Vermeulen might not even feature at the Rugby Championship"

Vermulen is an asset but the way he plays and the commitment he gives can lead to his injury absence.

Erasmus seems to me as someone that could well lead SA out of the doldrums.

If he plays Bismark de P .. the Eng breakdown had better front up a lot better.

I think that Steyn is now ott and is overweight and just a brute and a long range kicker. Better to preserve some invention and development guile?

"On Saturday, Eddie Jones suggested that Erasmus has steered the Boks back to a traditional approach, and that the players had executed that plan particularly well" Cardinelli-a Sports writer
