Post Conrad Smith retires
C S will retire at the end of the Season.

A truly excellent AB centre as his record states, he has done a wonderful job with Slade at Pau ...and they have grown from strength to strength in the Top 14 in their 3 years there.

He is going to sprnd a year or two with the International Rugby Players Rugby Association on Players Rights and will be an excellent talent and ambasador in that much needed area.

He will, in the future, consider coaching.

A wonderful talent and a truly wonderful model for Rugby.

This article in french for reference but essentially contains the details of his decision and futures ...

Deserves all the plaudits he gets IMO. Even though he's played in some great AB sides he's always stood-out for playing his own, nigh on perfect, outside centre play! Was a great reader of any game he played in and his positioning was always spot-on? I honestly can't think of a better outside centre, anywhere in the rugby world, certainly, of his generation?

I only saw him live a hand full of times for Saracens and a couple for France, but Philippe Sella would have given him a good run for his money

My man love for Conrad has always been strong. :love4: An absolute legend of Wellington, and NZ rugby. Together with Nonu, possibly our greatest midfield combo.

Always had his doubters (one of whom used to post here), always proved them wrong.

Did he ever have a bad game on black?

Top player.
