Post Schmidt next ABs Coach?
Scmidt has declared that he wont continue as Irish Coach after W Cup

Lots of Euro support for him to be next AB Coach, Conrad Smith (currently last Season with Pau and quoted in the Irish Times) , Sexton etc ...

Who are other candidates?

The french article only for reference ;)

The article states :

Mais Joe Schmidt a laissé entendre que la Coupe du Monde serait sa dernière compétition avec l'Irlande.

But Schmidt has let know that that the W Cup would be his last competition with Ireland.

No specific reference ...

Bit of speculation here mate? https://www.irishtimes.com/sport/rugby/ ... -1.3279067

Then again, it is only speculation by the looks, even though it's the Irish Times?

Exactly, hardly a declaration as stated in the OP.

Schmidt's contract ends after Next W Cup if, as is likely, he is in contention for NZ coaching hierarchy he'll go, if not he has options.

He’ll have to get a super gig if he plans on being the coach of the blackness. The NZRFU would be mad to not get him back to NZ if they can.

There's probably going to be a position at the Blues by then...

Anyway, it'll be a contest between Rennie, Cotter, Robertson, Schmidt, Joseph, Foster, Boyd for the position.

It's the ABs though, they'll get whatever coach they want.

Cotter (Head Coach) and Schmidt (Asst) worked together at Clermont to prime effect!
Schmidt went to Leinster and then Ireland and Cotter later went to Scotland and is now at Montpelier.

Both excellent ! Calm thinking coaches who achieve greater than the sum of the parts! :thumbright:

PS You don't want Simon Manix Coach @ Pau do you, he's a pain in the arse but bringing the best out of Pau ... :D

The health of his son will play a factor too, the IRFU and the old boys doctors network ensures that his son gets the best healthcare out there.
