Not before time either. However, it is clear that SA rugby has much deeper problems than the coach. For starters, the utterly stifling racial quotas and the fact the Rand cannot really compete with the Pound, Euro or Yen.

I take heart from Kitch's words in '95 after he took over a year before a WC with SA banned for more than a decade before and during a political turning point. He was unbeaten as a Springbok coach
"But you can't be world-class unless you have world-class problems"
It had meaning for him. Two of his players banned during the tournament (Canada Springboks '95) after Canada came with 'we can't win this but lets win the fight' approach

I hope for Davids (Kings coach) to be accommodated somehow. He inherited a bunch of no-hopers but managed to get them out there competitive. I'll bet on a Erasmus/Davids combo for the WC
